Vatican Treaty Recognizes a Palestinian State

The Vatican officially recognized a Palestinian state on Friday by signing a treaty and said it hoped the step would promote peace with Israel.

Vatican Foreign Minister Paul Gallagher said he hoped the Holy See's recognition "may in some way be a stimulus to bringing a definitive end to the long-standing Israeli-Palestinian conflict."

He signed the treaty with his Palestinian counterpart, Riad al-Malki, and said it could be a model for other Middle Eastern countries.

Israel expressed its disappointment last month when the Vatican announced a final agreement on the treaty, regulating the Catholic Church in Palestinian territories.

The Israeli Foreign Ministry said that the agreement "distances the Palestinian leadership from returning to direct and bilateral negotiations" with the Israelis over the long-stalled peace process.

The Vatican's started by negotiating with the Palestinian Liberation Organization, which represents Palestinians in countries that don't recognize a Palestinian state.

Negotiating with a terrorist organization. Off to a great start, there...

Sickening. The real Christ will never attempt to “legitimize” Satan. Prayers prayers for the His Church and that the new Holy Father may find God.

Impossible to argue with that. When the Vicar of Christ enters into a pact with a mass- murdering terrorist thug sworn to killing of consulting both the Church and the People of God (Christisns And Jews alike), plus when homosexual conduct is official led called a “marriage” ( which is considered a holy sacrament in the Church), etc etc. what more evil could possibly be thrust on the world? Last days? Very possibly indeed

Screw the Church for this. This is politics, not religion - it has no business doing this, much less legitimizing an organization whose principal reason for existing is to destroy Jewish sovereignty over the land that G-d gave to the Jews. Way to go...@ssholes.

I thought the Episcopal Church had gone off the rails but this looks like a head on collision.

The Vatican should be added to the U.S. list of countries that support terrorism.

The Vatican practiced terrorism for centuraries.

Heretics were burned at the stake. Jews and Moors wer exterminated. Huguenots and Protestants were slain.

Terror, the fire and the sword were the tools of the Vatican and the pope

It can not be denied, it can only be covered up with oily words and sugary pronouncements

Why does the Vatican hate Israel and the Jews? So much darkness gathering on the near horizon is chilling.

Israel has recognized and negotiated with the PLO since 1993.

Not surprising.

I wonder if this Leftist pope will call for Germany to kill Jews again.

We all need to pray for an early Conclave. Without a doubt, this Pope is turning out to be an absolute disaster for the Catholic Faith.

The triumvirate of Francis, Obama and the US Supreme Court is destroying both the US and the Catholic Church.
