Grand Junction, COLO. It's a hot debate that's sparked a lot of controversy in Mesa County. The updating of the Resource Management Plan has been in the works for years. It was announced a few months back, but not everyone's happy about the proposal.
The Mesa County Commissioners and the Bureau of Land Management took turns speaking at the town hall meeting. The public listened to what happened in a meeting with representatives from the governor's office, in regards to the Resource Management Plan, and had the chance to share their concerns and suggestions.
At last week's meeting with the governor's office, there were 393 miles of routes in dispute. "After that meeting, the BLM office made us an offer to defer roughly 207 miles of routes," said Mesa County Commissioner Rose Pugliese.
The county had originally asked for a six month extension to analyze the road closures. “I think in the negotiations with BLM, this is probably the best we're going to be able to do to buy us the time that we need as a community to articulate why those routes need to remain open,” said Pugliese.

Liberty was a well armed lamb contesting the vote", and if they wanted to close those roads, they may want to consider the fact that I was just one of the well armed lambs that would be there to contest the vote.

One of the problems we are facing here in Mesa County is the fact that our recently elected "R" Sheriff likes the federal funding for his jackboot drone programs too much to fight the feds. He'd rather lick their boots so long as it means those Fed tax $$$ keep coming in.

It was mostly polite, but the fact is, after this meeting, the BLM knows precisely where they stand with the majority of the people in Western Colorado, and it was made pretty clear to them in fairly specific terms. If they want Bundy Ranch II, we're happy to oblige.
One of the gentlemen there mentioned that. His statement was that, 15 years ago, the BLM were all "good ol boys", but now it has been taken over by liberals. Mostly an exact quote. Lol. The audience erupted in cheers and clapping in support of his statement, along with a few "Throw them out!". It was a really good meeting, and the fact is, the patriots were out in force.
Send him to Sheriff Richard Mack and Sheriff Tony DeMeo for proper training.
Both the BLM and Forest Service have a cognitive disconnect going on. They are both shutting down access to many areas on one side, and on the other side both want more people to get outdoors and enjoy the lands (at least I see Forest Service ads saying this, not so much BLM). There’s a real push when you visit the websites about all there is to do, and get out and enjoy, but then they work to close huge areas off from access. The left hand doesn’t know what the right hand is doing.
I'd like to send him down main street, covered in tar & feathers. He's a typical "Conservative" jackboot thug - before he even became sheriff, the County settled an excessive force lawsuit with a local family because of him. And yet, here he is.
