I am the first UK freeper to admit the UK has some serious problems, what I DO stand against is the a—utter crap that gets written about the UK on FR (I could fill volumes with the ‘facts’ I have read here), usually by Freepers that have never been to the UK and go on what talk radio and the net (inc FR) tells them, and b—the US hysteria about the UK: Muslims run the UK, Sharia Law is the UK legal code now, you know that sort of nonsense.
I and the other British and Irish freeper try always to give a genuine and honest idea of what the UK actually is, and for that we get guttersnipes like you and others calling us dhimmis, blind, deniers, optimists.
The UK is OUR country. We live here, and we know it better, problems and all, than you and others here. So sneer away at people trying to give Americans an honest take on their country. Its there for you to read and absorb, or not, frankly I couldn’t give a **** anymore. There are still nice people on FR who actually value what I and the UK freepers say. If you aren’t one of them, I wont miss a wink of sleep.
Perhaps if Americans spent less time sneering at other countries and directed that energy on their own, America wouldnt be the fractured, violent nation it is. Clean up your own pigsty before you start telling others to clean theirs. Run along now, haven’t you got the dead bodies of yet another gun rampage to bury?.

As for what foreigners think of America, liberals here are extremely concerned about “pleasing the Swedes”, and we rightwing gun toters could not care less. “Other nations are laughing at us!” the liberals whinge, and I just laugh back.
As for the Charleston massacre, notice how quickly the libs attack the Confederate flag & memorials & I am appalled at how quickly everyone caved on that one. “A good crisis must not go to waste” is the current meme on the left.
Yes, if one churchgoer on that terrible day had been armed, that murdering little creep would be dead with far fewer casualties among the good people.
But our bone of contention, you & I, has always been the Muslim problem (we long ago agreed to disagree about gun control). Geographically the British Isles are much smaller than the continental U.S. & much closer to Europe & North Africa to boot, so more Muslims in less space and don’t forget that the Chunnel was Napoleon’s idea. No leaky boats for Muslims infiltrating UK.
I just wish that sometimes you’d say (not admit) “Yes, Britain has a Muslim problem & parts of UK are lousy with them! It’s a hell of a mess & the pollies are doing nothing about it!”
A visitor to Britain arriving Heathrow will be forcibly interacting with many Muslims before he even reaches his hotel (we have the same problem at our airports). Why shouldn’t we on this side of the pond believe that you’re practically combing them out of your hair?
And by the way, what do you think about Pamela Gellar, the Mohammed art exhibit, the shootout that followed, and the speakers banned from U.K.; Spencer, Wilders, & others?
At least here in America I can go days or weeks without ever seeing a hijab or a kufi cap, and there’s a mosque I can spot from my downtown balcony.
No, I don’t believe any of those unkind rumors about Muslims ruling U.K. They do seem to have virtual autonomy in areas where they are the majority, however.
I love Great Britain & I’m sorry for what it’s become.
