IIRC, The IAF received its first F-16s just a few months before the Osirak raid. The Israelis added center line fuel tanks..which made the mission possible, despite fears that when the tanks were jettisoned, they might strike the bombs under the wings, either damaging them, or even causing a detonation. Happily, neither occurred.
History does have a way of repeating itself...

Unless Israel deals with Iran and neuters Obama, Israel won’t be around to take delivery of the F-35s.

USAF seems to list the F16 range as 1750 nautical miles. Even allowing for conversion of kilometers, the ranges mentioned in this article don’t seem to add up, even the 1000 km distance to Iran.
