Austin police say on Sunday at 10 a.m., a witness got video that clearly shows 34-year-old Darius Maxwell sexually assaulting a woman.

She was lying in the doorway of the Lit Lounge and was unconscious. The witness says another man appeared to serve as a look out while Maxwell committed the assault.

“How is a guy who has 21 felony arrests not in prison?”

Because these are arrests not convictions.

**************

The real question is what were the outcome(s) of any trials or pleas that he may
have had or made as a result of these arrest. Arrest doesn’t necessarily equate
to convictions or jail time.

They don't have voting booths in the prisons, silly. How would he be able to cast multiple ballots? You know, the "five thirds compromise".

“How is a guy who has 21 felony arrests not in prison?”

(To the theme song of “Best Little Whorehouse in Texas”) “Texas has a whorehouse in it and it’s Travis County.” Texans can perhaps brag about their state’s economy, but when it comes to a “justice system,” it’s in the dark ages. Too many idiots there posing as judges whose only “law degree” was received as a consequence of a bribe. Then there’s all the Ronnie Earles, and that drunk woman DA who sued Rick Perry. The “Good Ole Boy Syndrome” is alive and well in Texas.

>>> Travis County court records show Maxwell has an extensive criminal history which includes 21 felony arrests since 2003 and 12 misdemeanor arrests since 2007. <<<

Travis County is well known for giving career criminals ‘community service’ when Williamson County next to it hands out jail time.

Austin is also famous for the DA, Rosemary Lehmberg being known as ‘the town drunk’ after her demonstrated driving skill while intoxicated.
