Classic Philip K Dick story — “The Pre-persons”
People become persons at age 14 (or when they grasp algebra). Up until that point, if the kid is annoying, the parents can call the Abortion Truck and a man will come over and abort the child.
Its powerful satirical science fiction.
“The Pre-persons”, my first thought also.
I hoped humans would never go there, but I guess we are are ready past that point....
