Yes, I do keep up with events in Chicago, sort of. My Dad was post commander of Fort Sheridan (now closed) & I visited often, starting when Richard J. Daley, Sr. was still mayor & Chicago was known as “the city that works”. Saw all the museums on Lake Shore Drive & took in the King Tut exhibit in 1976. Flew an Army helicopter past the Sears & John Hancock towers & looked straight down into the shopping district.
That was then. Now Chicago is run by a liberal thug who blames everyone except his administration for the nightly black on black slaughter in his city. If you’re black & are slain by a white, stop the presses! If your murderer is also black, then ho hum.
A local joke had a black exchange student from South Africa spend a summer studying in America. Asked what it was like, he said, “Everything is so wonderful! People all drive cars and live in nice homes! And the race relations are so good!”
Asked where in America did he study, the student replied, “Hmm....it was the `South Side’ of Chicago.”
On my way to Fort Sheridan I drove past the Robert Taylor high rise ghettoes. Cabrini Green was more notorious, though.

Just to clarify, the “Come and Take It” flag resulted from the Mexicans trying to take it at the first battle of the Texas Revolution on 10/2/1835 in Gonzales, Texas not Goliad where Fannin and his troops were massacred in 1836 after the Battle of the Alamo.
I have my Come and Take It flag (purchased from Amazon) flying in my yard every day. BTW, the idiots on TV have no clue that there is a difference between the Confederate Battle Flag and the flag of the Confederacy. Bet your boots that, as someone else remarked, they will be trying to come after Texas legacy next.
