Orem Owlz 'Caucasian Heritage Night' promotion canceled after causing online stir

According to the team's site, the event was planned as a celebration of "Irish, Italian, German … or even Utahn! Whatever your background, celebrate it at the home of the Owlz!" The promotion details have since been removed from the team's website. The promotion was set for Aug. 10, but was canceled after social media outrage that began Friday afternoon. "We understand, in light of recent tragic events, that our intentions have been misconstrued,"... Lt. Gov. Spencer Cox tweeted that he had spoken to one of the co-owners of the team, and the owner said "he had no idea this was happening and immediately said it would never happen."

Oh, don't bring in South Carolina into this because we all know what this is really about. To think the governor had to step in to make sure this wasn't held. It's encouraged, if not demanded, to have gay nights. Blacks have the Black Caucus. Hispanics get their holidays. But whitey gets slapped down again and can't have mayo on his burger at a baseball game.

I'll get flamed for this for sure but so be it. What happened in Charleston was truly horrifying. Those innocent souls are now beyond any more worldly hurt and may God bless them and their surviving loved ones. Their lives certainly did matter, all life does. The monster who did this deserves the ultimate punishment, the death sentence. But where was the outrage when bands of feral black males were assaulting whites with the ‘’Knockout Game’’? Some of those assaulted died and the absurdity of it being called a ‘’game’’. Attempted murder is what it was. On the day 14 American soldiers were killed at Ft. Hood by a Muslim doctor Obama was giving shout outs to his homies. Again, Charleston was a tragedy beyond reckoning but many others of all colors have been assaulted and killed in the last six years and Obama only gives lip service to the real problem of race relations that have deteriorated under his presidency.

Maybe they should be more sneaky about it. How about celebrating Bavarian, Tuscan, Tyrolean, Frisian, Cornish, Burgundian, Pomeranian, Ashkenazi, etc. You get the point?
