US climate skeptics say Pope wrong, poor need cheap fuel

MIAMI (AFP) - US climate change skeptics and deniers said Thursday that Pope Francis was wrong to urge action against global warming because continuing to burn cheap fossil fuels could actually help the poor.

The reactions to Pope Francis' encyclical on climate change ranged from anger to polite disagreement, with US Republican presidential candidate Jeb Bush saying he respects the Catholic leader but prefers to make decisions about the environment in the political realm.

"Look, the climate is changing," Bush said at a campaign event in Iowa, according to CNN.

"I believe there are technological solutions for just about everything. And I'm sure there's one for this as well. So I respect the Pope, I think he's an incredible leader, but I think it's better to solve this problem in the political realm."

Bush, who announced his candidacy for US president on Monday, is Catholic but said religion would not guide his leadership on climate change.

"I don't go to mass for economic policy or for things in politics," he said....

I wonder what Pope John Paul would have to say about this Pope?

Perhaps it’s time to look back over some things. Letter of Indulgences? The Catholic Church invented this fraud to pay off the cost of the expensive cathedrals. The only thing was....they couldn’t explain how you’d die and carry this piece of paper to show the angels at the gate and get your free entry.

The Catholic Church did an audit in the last year....finding billions of dollars in ‘loot’ within their grasp. Do they use the billions to help the poor? No, there’s no evidence that any of the billions were removed to help the poor.

The Catholic Church in Limburg, Germany? Well....yeah....the Bishop in charge did say something about a renovation deal and folks thought the original amount in this planned effort was around a couple of million. When the project was finally done...the guy (Bishop) had spent roughly $40 million. Did they fire the guy? No....they simple shifted him around, made him do six months of vacation. No punishment for wasting a vast amount of money.

Fancy talk on getting to the root of the problem with priests who rape kids? Nothing. Not only will the cops and prosecutors in your region do nothing about it....but the church just grins when the topic comes up and acts like they got a free ‘get-out-of-jail’ card.

Don’t you love the term “deniers”.

I go look at the temperature charts, they say hiatus. And then I am a denier?

Interesting for the Leader of a major “religion” (the root of the problem where people at the top like to make things up they think God will like or say he told them something and they were lying

Just take a look at Ezekiel Chapter 13, probably less than 500 words. written almost 2000 years ago

If he keeps this up he will have cooked his own goose, so let it go, God has this cover TIGHT

I am having a great day because the sewer is about to be drained totally, once and for all and it will NEVER appear again

BTW, Religions were created by Man not God, so in most ways practitioners in these structures who “modify” Gods words to tickle peoples ears so they will fill the seats and their pockets. I am a Spiritual and Ordained Minister, I will never again visit one of these houses of ill repute

I talk to God everyday and I have not attended Church in many years

Grow up and take responsibility and for Gods sake NEVER take ANYTHING ANY Media outlet is saying

You know deep inside it is true but you “compromise” because it takes too much effort and there are fun things that are more important

The Pope if he continues will be gone soon, Gods patience with all of us has RUN OUT!!

Reverend Steve Earle

I thought so! He, like all the rest, is using this sham “science” as a means to an end. Does he seriously want charity to come from Caesar?

There are wonderful rewards for very thoroughly studying the Prophets, Joshua through Malachi. If every word is carefully analyzed and every meaning of words understood in the context of the time and experience of each prophet, the experience and knowledge can be unexpectedly surprising and wonderful. The earlier the version of text, the better, the best being that which is not from the Septuagint, in my opinion, but more directly from the original Hebrew.

But the Prophets should be read from beginning to end, rereading every part enough times along the way to understand it. The knowledge gained can be very exciting at times from I Kings, on. Elijah doesn’t get enough attention, for one, in my opinion.

Although I’m most likely very different from you in some beliefs, I share part of your perspective and joy in what might be happening. Notice the mention of “outcry” (or words with that meaning) here and there in the Prophets. Part of the outcry comes from those of us who see what’s going on and are willing to risk living austere lives in order to be closer.

The weather and other changes are great, terrible and wonderful, in my opinion. I feel very blessed to live, when we can see such changes.

And all the leaders are doing their best to make everyone poor.

Except themselves.

So we’re all going to need cheap fuel.

Commie libtard idiots.

If you disbelieve warmists, then any even a belief in God is somehow considered proof that you are anti-science.

But as long as you toe the climate crisis line, then faith in God, belief in creationism, or even endorsing the practice of exorcism (as the Pope did last year) are not any kind of disqualifiers.

If you disbelieve warmists, then a PHD in meteorology is somehow not a worthy credential. But if you beleive them, then somehow the equivalent of a Community College certificate in Chemistry (which is what the Pope has) somehow qualifies you as a climate scientist.

The reason behind RNCINC “strategy change” is someone in the Vatican did a financial analysis: The result is a potential gold mine in “carbon credits” which could benefit RNCINC handsomely. Remember, RCINC is the oldest most profitable multinational corporation on the planet
