Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) is moving forward with votes on President Obamas trade agenda next week, even though pro-trade Democrats have yet to promise their support.
McConnell on Thursday filed motions to advance fast-track authority and a separate package of trade preferences for African nations combined with an extension of Trade Adjustment Assistance (TAA), a program that helps workers displaced by foreign competition.
The Senate will vote to end debate on fast-track Tuesday and then will vote on final passage of the measure later that day or Wednesday. Immediately afterward, the Senate will vote to end debate on the package of trade preferences and TAA, setting up a final vote on those Wednesday or Thursday.
Pro-trade Senate Democrats have yet to sign off on the plan and are demanding a variety of concessions to sweeten the deal.
McConnell needs at least 11 Democratic votes to make up for the expected loss of five Republicans who voted against fast-track last month.
But Democrats say its going to cost McConnell something extra, since he and Boehner have decoupled fast-track from TAA and cannot provide an ironclad promise that both will reach Obama at the same time.
McConnell appeared uninclined Thursday to give Democrats any favors and instead urged them to vote the same as they did last month on fast-track and TAA.

trade preferences for African nations //
What nations are there that can benefit us? i dont know.
It will be interesting to see who votes for this disaster, both to invoke cloture and then for the ObamaTrade crap itself. I suspect some will pull the old sleigh of hand of voting for cloture and then, for the benefit of the yokels back home, vote against the bill knowing that there will be enough votes to pass it without them.
These bastard have delivered millions of dollars to the watward spouces. But there will be no investigation
So I guess we’re now in the position of hoping the Democrats sink this turkey since we’ve been betrayed by the Republicans yet again. Not a very good feeling.
They all bend over for the king

I am sure that some Cruz supporters can now jump in a tell us how good the bill is when even its supporters in Congress admit that it will cause Americans to lose jobs due to low wage competition. Maybe they will volunteer to lose their jobs to show good faith.

So lets see how Marco and Teddy vote second time around. I’m curious to see if either one of them has a learning curve.
What’s interesting and gone un-noticed was that release timming of position offered by the Socialist Katlickers favorite Pope. In his papal globull warming excreement of high pricing “fossil fuels” “to save the world” (which matches that of the regimes). Was the demand by regine defender of the faith Saint Nancy Pelosi that the bull is to be included in any such future legislation when she voted no.
