The House and Senate should pass a bill disbanding the BLM. Public land management should be by the National Parks. The entire congress should have, by bills, establish the land to be managed by the Parks with the recommendation of the States.
Congress created the BLM in 1947 when they merged the General Land Office and the US Grazing Service.
The current BLM was created by Congress with the Federal Land and Policy Management Act of 1976(FLPMA).
In 1976 there were 0 Areas of Critical Environmental Concern covering 0 acres. By 2000, there were 838 Area covering over about 14 million acres.
In 1976 there were 11,000 archeological sites covering about a million acres. By 2000, there were 235,000 sites covering over 14 million acres.
