Political Correctness isn't a joke, it is dangerous and its destroying America as we know it. I will be sharing this with friends who think "PC" is just a cute little phrase to mock Liberals. It is anything but.

The original term for it was “Cultural Marxism”.

But, that’s too “truthy” for the left to implement it effectively.

I kinda always thought it began during WWII in Sicily when Patton slapped a soldier in an attempt to get the soldier to man up.

Patton was almost fired.

Imagine....firing the best tank commander we had in WWII because he slapped a soldier.

A great deal of it originates from communist think-tanks, either state sponsored, groups, or individuals. A century long task to tip over the apple cart of society and rot it out from the inside.

I recall an article titled “Visigoths InTweed” by Thomas Sowell I believe, twenty or 25 years ago that was about the emerging PC on campus...

Political Correctness isn't a joke

Political Correctness is a doctrine fostered by a delusional, illogical, liberal minority, and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end.

The reason for the advance in government sponsored political correctness is the result of America's government Ineptocracy.

Ineptocracy (in-ep-toc’ra-cy)
A system of government where the least capable to lead are elected by the least capable of producing, and where the members of society least likely to sustain themselves or succeed, are rewarded with goods and services paid for by the confiscated wealth of a diminishing number of producers.

Ineptocracy appears to have overcome and replaced Kakistocracy. kak•is•toc•ra•cy, Kakistocracy is Government by the least qualified or most unprincipled citizens.

I believe the accurate description for the private sector is the "Peter Principle".

Political correctness has always been around in one form or another. Whether its an undercurrent in society or a full blown attack on free speech and American traditions, PC always undermines the foundations of freedom and liberty. It needs to be killed off.

PC came to the forefront in American society with the election of Slick Willie and his witchy wife in ‘92.

Indeed. In fact for years I’ve argued that candidates for office need to run against it. Rush, Hannity et al should push for listeners to vote against PC if for nothing else. Fire school “administrators” and demand resignations of bureaucrats. We can play their game and should.

Political correctness is basically a way of trying to shut down free speech and conservatives. Some forms are on the petty side. I remember as a schoolkid laughing at "sick" jokes concerning crippled people. You laughed, then you felt a little ashamed when somebody said you shouldn't make fun of crippled people.

But now things are going too far. I was on a sports forum recently and I posted a comment about a coach's actions retarding the progress of a particular player. I got a notice from the moderator that I could not use that word. There's nothing wrong with that word in that context. I've heard the word used in science classes to describe the effect of a chemical agent on something.

But the people who ran the forum were so p.c. they would not allow a word that was not meant to offend anybody but merely to illustrate the effect of a coach's actions on a player. I had to find another word.

However, now society has forbidden laughing about any protected group which is basically much of the liberal constituency. It's all an attempt to control speech and censor conservatives. And it's succeeding.

THE BATTLE FOR AMERICA’S SOUL
Balint Vazsonyi (excerpt)

Social Dogma . . . It never admits to prohibiting freedom of speech; instead, it masquerades

in the Third Reich as “allegiance to the Fuhrer,”
in the Soviet realm as “class struggle,”
in the United States as “politically correct vocabulary.”

It never admits to obstructing the path of the talented; instead, it decrees

purification of the race (Third Reich),
leadership of the proletariat (Soviet Union),
affirmative action (United States).

It never admits to confiscating the property of those who had succeeded; instead, it claims

to recover “what the Jews had plundered” (Third Reich),
to establish national ownership (Soviet Union),
to protect the environment (United States).

Ethnic group sensitivity and self-assertiveness have a long history in America. It's hard to see the Frankfurt School, the sour old white men who couldn't dance and hated jazz, as in the forefront of various American ethnic movements. They did hook into feminist and gay thinking, but they weren't really leading the way there either.

Lind is fashioning a label and a history for current racial and sexual politics, in hopes that he can easily uproot it by calling it "cultural Marxism," but it's already pretty deeply rooted in some parts of American society.

Also, with all the research William Lind did, he really ought to have considered the consequences that throwing around a term like Kulturbolschewismus (cultural Marxism) had in European history.

Look at how many posters on Free Republic use the term “Native American.”

Members of the various tribes have genetic markers showing that their ancestors came from what, prior to 1991, used to be called Soviet Central Asia, others came from coastal China.

Their ancestors came across the land bridge now known as the Aleutian Island eons ago, long before people of European ancestry crossed the Atlantic.

The proper term should be First Peoples, or First People not “Native Americans.”

As long as PC is political, you can’t expect it to be correct. It’s never been more dangerous because it’s never been more effective. We are almost at the point of no return.

They have to be afraid of using the wrong word, a word denounced as offensive or insensitive, or racist, sexist, or homophobic.

No, they don't HAVE to be afraid. Or, if they must be, they need to confront that fear by confronting the fascism that gives rise to it. It is a different kind of courage -- a moral courage -- but just as important in this culture war as the guts to charge a machine gun in combat.
