In a move that will bolster the credibility level of both networks, Brian Williams reportedly is to move from NBC News, where he formerly was anchor, to MSNBC. The New York Times:
NBC is planning to announce on Thursday that Brian Williams will not return to his position as the anchor of its “Nightly News” show, four months after the network suspended him for exaggerating his experiences during a helicopter attack in Iraq, according to two people briefed on the decision.
Mr. Williams is expected to move to a new role at NBC News, primarily at the cable news network MSNBC, which would probably be in a breaking-news capacity at the beginning, according to one of the people.
Williams has a $50 million contract with NBC, so using him at low-rated MSNBC is better than just paying him to do nothing. But with a little imagination, perhaps pairing him with fellow fantasist Al Sharpton, the beleaguered cable net could turn to an explicit comedy/fantasy approach to programming.

So he’s going from amateur to professional liar?
Good riddance to Lyin’ Brian.
When he’s not lyin’ he’s cryin’.....
About to disappear down the memory hole.
LOL
Because MSNBC loves liars.
Bwahahahaaaaa ...... Can’t think of a best fitting ‘punishment’ for BW.
If only they (NBC big brass) can see fit to transfer Bob Costa as well ....... (I can barely watch the triple crown coverage)
Just to be honest, MSNBC was first last night with coverage of the murders at the AME church in Charleston.
That figures. Goes from a bad job to an obscure one.
MSNBC is where media types go to die.
That’s like moving across the street from your current home.................
It’s a sign that Comcast is planning to make changes on MSNBC in the future.
Williams wouldn’t have agreed to stay and NBC wouldn’t have agreed to keep paying his big salary if there weren’t plans for a shakeup at MSNBC.
Apprentice shill to journeyman to master.
That’s Leftist career progession - and he’s nothing if not “progressive”.
A liar on MSNBC?
Say it aint so!
Maybe Brian and Rather can start their own station.
Gee... I would have thought Brian was a sure thing to be the new host for ‘Swamp People’.
Well, MSNBC does need to do something to increase their credibility.
Williams-Sharpton.
The stepchildren of Huntley-Brinkley ?
The SHARPIE network, he’ll fit right in.
So NBC becomes more credible with Williams gone, and MSNBC is currently even less credible than Williams is?
