Here is another; that’s a lot of fish fertilizer jumping out of the water! It worked for the Indians (Thank you Squanto!) Catch them, put them in a giant blender, spray the result on your field after you plant. Rinse your equipment thoroughly! And go shower! Business opportunity for the right person!
I got a bag full of shad one year and dropped them in my corn row before I planted! Had a good harvest.
From what I’ve heard, asian carp don’t taste badly, but they are boney. One of the universities in my state has a program investigating the commercial possibilities available with this fish and I know of at least one company that is harvesting the fish, flash-freezing them and then shipping them (ironically) back to asia.
