Police are assuming the responsibilities of missing fathers, inept teachers, and strong ‘older brothers’. It's not healthy.

Totally agree. It is not working because the libtard politicians overseeing the police departments want babysitting services, not police services.

When police try to provide police services, they are slapped down hard. So it is easier to collect a paycheck for babysitting services.

My theory applies only to police providing police services. Cops are still some of the nicest, most helpful and polite people in Japan (and in the U.S. before the 1970s) and they will even provide helpful babysitting type services. But do a crime and they are on you like white on rice instantly.

I agree with you... except on the ‘Japan’ part ... cops here are still some of the nicest people too... Japan doesn't have the monopoly. That said, my concern is an unhealthy dependency has formed... between the black community and police. Like welfare - sometimes ‘being good and doing what's right’ damages.... not intentionally ...

Seeing welfare from the eyes of the person who wants to help - - it's noble. The best of Christian values. But a closer look shows the destructive effect that 'caring' can do to destroy families. Replacing fathers with the State had unintentional consequences.

Looking at policing through the eyes of a policeman - a person willing to give his life to protect the innocent is amazing.. and again - noble. The essence of Christian 'good'. But the fruit of that 'goodness' is not good in the black community. Same as welfare - and the effects it had on the black family and the community - is bad. With all the good intentions in the world 'help' has made the black community an unacceptable nightmare. Dangerous for innocent black people trapped in those neighborhoods - and for people of other races near them - it's horrible. My point - which I'm really and truly trying to get to - is that incentives have to be analyzed and changed. What's happening isn't working.
