A society that has no respect for their elders is a dying society.
I’m a little surprised they didn’t send out a SWAT Team to take care of the brats.
This reminds me of a certain event which happened around 20 years ago.
A church group made up of a certain race spent a week at a certain retreat. One of the kids went around one night with a BB gun and broke over 200 windows.
The retreat billed the church but never expected to get paid.
Grandma lives in Florida..probably retired after working all her life..
Grandsons aged 12 and 16 live in Michigan with parent or parents..
OK how much are you betting that (pick one or more)
1. Grandma last saw these boys when they were babies
2. Grandma has never seen them because she is not a “popular” relative (read Grandma expects her children and grandchildren to act civil)
3. Nobody else will take them off the lazy hands of the parent/parents and the boys are too much to handle and now cramp the life styles of those parent/parents
4. This is all due to the type of “parenting” that has gone on for the last 16 years..
Oh and often in the case of Grandma is suddenly OK to send the kids too now they’re teenagers and juvenile delinquents..
Grandma gets killed or maimed by that sweet lil darling...
..
We would set up our army men on opposing hillsides. We would also bury firecrackers under the opposing army’s too. There was 100 army men in a package and 100 bb’s in a tube. Then we would take turns shooting each other armies and when we ran out of ammo we would light off the firecrackers. After the smoke cleared the one who killed the most enemies would be the winner.
If Florida has a `parental liability’ statute, these little terds’ parents could be on the hook to the injured for treble damages, court costs and attorney fees.
The little childrens should quickly self-identify as innocent or one of the protected classes.
We used to shoot our BB guns in the basement. ....I had a thing that held a paper target and every time you hit a bullseye at 30’ it went “Ding”. My dad worked midnight shifts and kicked my butt.
Somebody needs basic safety class.....Gots me an idea it wouldn’t matter much.
“The paper target on a box full of newspapers got boring. I remember shooting the bulb on one of the lamps! I was stupid like that.”
I spent many hours shooting little green army men in little dirt forts.
Also shot up my PT109 model I had floating in the backyard inflatable pool.
Good solid fun.
Proper punctuation could have saved grandma’s teeth and her telationship with the children.
“Let’s shoot, grandma!”
vs.
“Let’s shoot grandma!”
No they don’t....
They both are in need of an all-important unforgettable visit to the wood shed...
Ok, were they shooting a BB gun or a Pellet gun, either way they were not equipped with brains.
Wooden “strike anywhere” stick matches made a satisfying “Crack!” when shot into a concrete wall from a BB gun.
Filling a tennis ball with those wooden match heads and throwing against a brick wall was kinda fun too.
I never had tennis balls to play with. I did have lots of TinkerToys, an Erector Set, and lots of things like water rockets. My toy box was a wooden Atlas Powder Company dynamite box (grandpa had a tiff mine).
These little criminals have shown that they have no empathy. They will simply be moving on to bigger and nastier things.
This is not the last we will hear of them. By 12 and 14, their basic personalities have been formed, and these have not been formed with any concern for the persons or rights of other people.
The boys were from Detroit.
The older one was 16, I mistyped his age at 14.
He should certainly be held criminally responsible.
16 and shooting at strangers, simply for kicks. I would like to see this “BB” gun. True, it is not a firearm, but it shows a serious disregard for other people.
