vanden Heuvel blames Bob Inglis' 2010 reelection loss on his climate stance. But GOP voters had a list of complaints concerning Inglis' voting record. From Wikipedia:

In the June 8, 2010, primary election, Inglis finished second with 27 percent of the vote, well behind first-place finisher Gowdy's 39 percent. He was forced into a June 22 run-off election against Gowdy.[3] Although he had "racked up a reliably conservative record" during his six terms in the house,[4] Inglis had been criticized by his primary opponents for certain Congressional votes, including his support for the Emergency Economic Stabilization Act of 2008 (which earned him the nickname "Bailout Bob")[5] and his opposition to the Iraq War troop surge of 2007, and was portrayed as removed from the interests of the district.[3][6] Inglis had attacked Gowdy's conservatism and questioned his opponent's support for creating a costly lake in Union County, South Carolina.[3]

In the runoff, Gowdy defeated Inglis in a landslide, 71-29 percent.[7] Following his defeat in the Republican primary, Inglis criticized the Tea Party movement, which had supported his opponents' campaign, as well as the Republican Party for courting the movement, stating, "It's a dangerous strategy, to build conservatism on information and policies that are not credible."[8]

Of course vanden Heuvel does not mention science or any "global warming" facts. It's all about the politics.

Consider the fact that the author is probably the most liberal “journalist” in the media.

But even if their position is partially self-serving, it’s an important declaration, and one that deeply undercuts the climate change deniers’ arguments.

Wow. The Eco-Nazis routinely force companies to make sounds agreeing with their fascistic nonsense. Now they're pretending that government-coercion = Science.

Vanden Hateful has been a leftwing liar for decades. The fact that the ComPost published this crap from a editor at The Nation tells you all you need to know about their agenda.

The left conflates the expression “climate change” with “man-made climate change” for the same reason they confuse the distinction between “immigration” and “illegal immigration.”

I consider the phrase “Climate Change Denier” a microagression and makes me want to flee to a ‘Safe Space’ place.

Today, the movement to seriously address global warming is gaining unlikely supporters, a potential preview of the tectonic shift to come.

In other news, a gigantic snow pile in South Boston left over from last winters record snowfall is still melting.

The arguments have not been undercut by corporations signing on.

Facts are funny like that.

“Global warming is not a matter of belief. It’s a matter of facts.”

The climate has been changing since long before man. The greatest climate change denier is the climate itself.

Just because a few big oil companies decided to turn sellout to play in a phony carbon trading market does not mean that our position is cracking.

Big Oil could care less about carbon taxes, they’ll just pass it on in higher prices. Large multinational corporations are part of the crony capitalist cabal in cahoots with Big Government.

I don't care if ALL the oil companies jump on the Climate Change Hoax bandwagon.

If the Pope says that Climate Change is man-made then he has rendered himself fallible. Time to look for a new pope if you believe that he his is the pontiff, Otherwise his is the vicar for Gaia, Tyrant Sheldon Whitehouse or Algore on the Earth.

A lie is a lie is a lie.

Popular opinion doesn't change that fact that AGW is a pure scam. It exists to make the populace poor and dependent on the government.

it's amazing how shrill the Left is and how many shills they have to try and make everyone believe their horrific fairy story. Not that the consequences of Global Warming/Climate Change/Disruptification would be horrific. The draconian laws to steal our freedoms and money are.

“URGENT!!! Give up everything you have and your children's future just in case we are able to lower the temperature 1/1,000,000,000th of a degree over the next 100 years!”

Remember: The government's 1200 IPCC government controlled “scientists” trump our 31,000 independent thinking private sector Scientists.

http://www.petitionproject.org/

“We urge the United States government to reject the global warming agreement that was written in Kyoto, Japan in December, 1997, and any other similar proposals. The proposed limits on greenhouse gases would harm the environment, hinder the advance of science and technology, and damage the health and welfare of mankind.
There is no convincing scientific evidence that human release of carbon dioxide, methane, or other greenhouse gases is causing or will, in the foreseeable future, cause catastrophic heating of the Earth's atmosphere and disruption of the Earth's climate. Moreover, there is substantial scientific evidence that increases in atmospheric carbon dioxide produce many beneficial effects upon the natural plant and animal environments of the Earth.”

The chart below comes from the "US Climate Reference Network" for the contiguous 48 states.

The USCRN, made up of 114 state-of-the-art weather stations, located in pristine unpopulated areas in the USA, is the most sophisticated and most accurate weather network in the world.

Over the last 10.5 years, the average temperature in the Lower 48 has declined almost 0.5 degrees F.
