I dont appreciate you characterizing my comments as glossing over. If you want to participate in an intelligent and civil discussion, then you are going to get rid of that habit. Because I can do the same to you 100-fold.
I was referring to, among other things, the habit of Cruz supporters to insinuate that TPA does not enable TPP. It’s quite tiresome and defies logic.
Cutting and pasting campaign talking points filled with half truths and dissembling does not equate to “civil discussion”. It’s quite unfortunately that some conservatives are using pretzel logic to support the enabling of passage of Obamatrade because of one vote by Ted Cruz. I expect better of FReepers.
You are not doing Ted Cruz any favors by spamming Freepers with repetitive posts over and
decorum, respect and a gracious attitude go a long way!

You haven’t read TPP yet you have jumped to a conclusion. This fact puts you into an unflattering category for those that appreciate intelligence ad discernment ability.
Not now. Once TPP is passed.
I didn’t realize you worked at the Cato Institute.
Cruz supports TPA, a bill that requires a trade bill be public 60 days before a vote. TPA also requires Congress be involved in all negotiations. TPA places restrictions on what the President can and can’t do. TPA makes any infraction of those restrictions render any agreement null and void.
The new TPA has clauses that reinforce our sovereignty and also contains the Cruz/ Sessions language on immigration.
TAA is something the Dems are pushing to appease the unions, and is basically unemployment insurance.
Cruz does not support the TPP agreement . It is not completed and won’t come up for vote until late 2016 when it will not pass.
In what way is Cruz enabling Obamatrade? It would appear you don’t understand that TPA increases Congresses role in negotiations and puts restrictions on the President, while also mandating transparency of trade agreements before a vote.
TPP is the trade agreement, isn’t complete and likely won’t be voted on until late 2016.
As for Heidi Cruz, she was required to have a term membership in CFR, which she no longer has as it expired. Her job is managing portfolios for wealthy people who are investing a minimum of 40 million. She’s an extraordinarily bright woman and apparently that is looked on as suspect by paranoid people that think that banking and investment are somehow inherently evil.
You mean once TPP comes up for vote in late 2016 and gets Voted Down? Too many folks up for re election to vote for an unpopular bill.
Why do some conservatives who I once supported support Obama trade, a disaster for America. Bonehead Boehner is going along with the leftist communists and I am sick of the DC scumballs, dems and pretender conservatives like bonehead Boehner and McConnel are the monsters of the world.
It’s time for all these “REPUBLICAN QUISLINGS” to “FISH OR CUT BAIT”. They are either with us or against us, and if they are against us, then let them join the democratic party. We are so tired of these “QUISLINGS” telling us how good they are doing for us.
Yes! Call, email, tweet, and yell in the streets if you have to but stop these bloody thieves! They think they've beaten us down after Obamacare so let them know they're wrong.
We're still here, still pissed, and still coming after them.
