Billed by its organizers at the Civic Engagement Collaborative (CEC) as an initiative to mobilize immigrant New Yorkers in preparation for the 2016 Presidential elections, New York needs the new campaign to be an effective effort.

After all, this is a city where nearly 40% of the residents are foreign-born, over 60% speak a language other than English at home, and about 20% — or 1,480,072 — of all registered voters are naturalized citizens or the U.S.-born children of immigrants.

“Engaging immigrant voters in the electoral process offers a unique opportunity to change the dynamics of civic engagement in the city,” said Murad Awawdeh, of the New York Immigration Coalition.

I have two groups of friends from Staten Island and Broolklyn. In one group, only one out of fifteen speaks italian.
In the other group, 12 out of 15 speak italian. They teach their kids both languages. That’s nice. Kids can learn two languages. But it is NOT the primary language in the house. English is.
They dont speak it around me because I dont understand Italian.
My mother does but never spoke it because back then it was though two languages would be too tough for a kid.
These other people are not assimilating at all.

NY and CA are lost.

They should break off and form two separate new countries.

Just like California. And then we wonder how Obama ever got elected...

Eventually it will be all foreign nationals who will be elected to government offices. When you hear we’re being incrementally replaced, it’s not a joke. They divided the once united.

Most in office now fully understand where this is all going. It’s why they increasingly pander to those folks. They’ll hang on until those they pandered to, replace them with their own.

I speak Spanish. I also speak English. Quite well, in fact.

As a result, some people think I'm just another motorcycle-riding redneck.

You should see the look on their faces when I tell them that English is my "second" language....priceless.

Typical. The campaign organisers are ALL Demoncrats.

Watch closely, after all these big Democrat controlled cities register millions of foreign voters the “National Popular Vote” initiative will be snuck through at the last minute.

Don’t think for a minute that Hillary Clinton can’t be elected president.

Well said. During the 1960s, I didn't grow up near any of the cities of the northeast or west coast. Only heard rumors about them. Watching and listening to people from such places near where I live now (CO) is a bit of a shock. Their culture is different. It's very apathetic. I grew up with middle class Protestants of hundreds of years of American heritage.

Look at what they've done to the judicial system. Looks like something from Italy or the Balkans.
