Has anyone asked the prison manager, commander, whatever?
“Lets see, guards have been known to get wealthy bringing in contraband, cigarettes, pot, alcohol, porn, messages etc, and selling it for a fortune.”- D2
yep- guards are dealing in contraband. How else does it get in there?
No it's not. It's murdering lunatic inmates escaping into the neighborhood. Most all modern prison riots in the U.S. they're able to contain them *within* the prison.
You got it.
How much money do you think prisoners have?
>
No matter how you look at it, having a package delivered to a tower guard from the outside like that is just so wrong.
Absolutely. It is a breach of any competent security protocol. Management doesn’t know what’s in that bag.
Enough to buy heroin, porn, cell phones, alcohol, influence, cigarettes, make bribes, and pay off guards.
Why do you ask?
Probably isn't one. They went by the wayside a long time ago. We had an officers' mess at Auburn when I was there in the early 80's, but it was closed sometime after '84 because of budget problems, and never re-opened.
Stay away form the bag when it comes back down.
Oh, so guards can’t bring their own lunches, are provided no break periods, no lunch breaks and they’re forced to stay on post for 8 to 12 hours per day?
Does anyone believe this?
Nope...none that are contracted by the Union. You eat on the run. The only breaks I got when I was at Auburn is if I was posted in the yard. If there were extra officers available, the yard Sergeant would sent them to give us 15 minute breaks so we could hit the bathroom, or grab a coffee. The relief officers would rotate through the yard, giving post officers those breaks all the time the inmates were outside. And believe me, during the winter, you looked forward to those breaks.
Tell me, what is it the guards need so badly that they have to get someone outside the prison to tie bags onto ropes and haul it up the walls?
Do they not get breaks and lunches?
Nope.
No sale.
When I lived in Missouri, someone broke out of the work release center, stole a six-pack of beer at a convenience store nearby and tried to sneak back in to share it with his friends. He went straight to jail.
Gee, I wish I'd known that during my 25 years as a guard in NY State's prisons. I don't know how they'd pay me all that fortune since inmates can't carry currency of any kind. I worked with a couple of officers over the years that did stupid stuff at work, but the inmate's snitched them out, and they were brought up on criminal charges, and lost their jobs. Most officers got into trouble for DWI, or doing stupid things outside of work. Besides, the inmates could get what they needed cheaper at the prison commissary. They didn't have to pay taxes on cigarettes when they bought them, and other items were always cheaper there, than what you'd pay in a grocery store outside. You have more inmate visitors bringing in contraband than any other way. You can't search or frisk them so they secrete stuff on their persons, go into the visitor's bathrooms in the visiting room, and remove what they want to pass to the convict, and unless you have info from a reliable source, you can't do anything because the courts have tied your hands.
It's the door to get up to the tower...that's it. They stay there for their whole shift. There's no such thing as guaranteed lunch time or breaks. If it happens, it happens. You eat, shit and pee when you can.
Uh, toilet paper. State forms that have to be filled out. Perhaps the officer had a problem with one of the weapons on the post, or equipment he uses, and needed replacements to finish his shift with. You can't do that from inside the prison because you don't want to lower the bucket into any areas where inmates have access. Plus, it's common sense that you don't lower the bucket to get anything, or send anything down, without knowing who is at the other end of that bucket, and what's coming your way.
I see, so they’re hauling up toilet paper to the guards who are not allowed to take breaks or lunches?
lol...
It’s time to talk about expanding the death penalty... Housing violent criminals is a waste of time, money, and hope.
Nothing worse than being stuck on a roof tower for 8 hours, and not being able to wipe yourself.
