I remember in the early 80’s they’d walk about with what looked like cheap, opaque plastic hotel shower caps on their heads, even in high summer. We used to joke that they would put anything they found on their heads and if it stayed there they had themselves a new hat!

Dolezal does not, in all her costumery, look Negro, nor does she sound Negro. Many Negroes are well spoken and have no trace of black acent in their voices but they do not have regional “white” accents, either. Dolezal sounds like a white woman with a somewhat valley girl accent. I cannot believe that all those people were taken in by her act.

Do you remember the old FOX comedy show "In Living Color?" They had a skit with a character who was called White Chocolate. He was white (and didn't try to hide it) but did all he could to fit in with the African-American social circle in his neighborhood.

Upshot of the skit is that they thought he had merited being allowed to "say it."

Overjoyed, he says, "Really? No foolin'? Not tryin' to trick me, now?"

"It's cool. You can say it."

"Oh, man! WHAT UP, ******?!?!?"

Whereupon he gets beaten down. And one of them says, shaking his head, "Too much 'ger. Not enough 'ga!"

So I wonder if that's the sort of deal Rachel has in Spokane: Everything's good so long as she DOESN'T use the n-word!
