Americans are not turning against free trade, they are against approving secret laws that empower an anti-American psycho President looking to destroy the country.

Put another way is if liberal elites don’t care about us, we don’t feel we need to care about them.

America is turning against free trade for the same reason Obama got elected.

We are becoming a nation of socialist whiners that don’t want to compete.

We are becoming French. We want protection and handouts.

The problem is that what is being negotiated is NOT “free trade”.

We have imported products from all of these countries with low or no tariff’s for decades. If we merely wished to ratify that practice, it would not require thousands of pages of secretly negotiated conditions.

What these agreements are is not free trade in which all companies compete with simple equal rules and new companies with better ideas can join the market with few barriers. These are managed trade agreements, under which only large multinational corporations can file the necessary paperwork; obtain all the necessary licenses and certifications that they meet all labor, safety, and environmental regulations of all the countries involved; and have an army of lawyers to interact with the multinational bureaucracies created by these agreements. If you are Proctor & Gamble and intend to secure 50% of the soap market in the Pacific region, these agreements are great for you. If you are a 10 person company in Dayton, and a store owner in Korea wants to stock the wonderful strawberry-scented soap bars that were in the hotel room when they visited Dayton last summer, good luck navigating all the regulations created by these “free” trade agreements.

My wife and I lived near the Canadian border in the Detroit area from 1986-1991. For the average person, it was an open border with “free trade”. You could drive to Canada for lunch or for a weekend in Toronto with just your driver’s license, and if a passenger forgot that, the border guards would ask a few questions and wave them through. Local businesses accepted US and Canadian coins interchangeably, even with the knowledge that if they lost a few pennies on a Canadian dime, it was still good business. After NAFTA, which was supposed to promote free movement of people and goods, a trip of a few hours into Canada involves passports, customs forms, and armies of border guards. NAFTA may have simplified some transactions for large businesses, but has increased the hurdles experienced by individuals and small businesses.

So called ‘Free Trade’ is like just about every other word in America these days. It has been bastardized beyond recognition.

Not to mention if by ‘free trade’ they really mean massive immigration or some other destruction of us or our economy I am against it too.

They call it “free trade.” It’s a misnomer right out of Goebel’s play book. We have manipulated trade, with winners and losers, all chosen by our politicians and their donors.
With every deal, the American citizens are losing out. Jobs gone, deficits soaring and no end in sight.

Same reason they’re turning against unicorns and leprechauns. They don’t exist. Calling a new plan to cut American workers pay so fascists can make another billion free trade doesn’t make it all better. Which of the “free trade” agreements that we have already signed have improved the lives of American workers?

This is not “FREE TRADE”. This is an unfair trade with whatever country we made that agreement with. They can import anything they want, while we can export only those things that are acceptable to those countries. Why do you think these countries are doing some heavy bribing to our politicians. OUR POLITICIANS ARE SELLING US OUT, AGAIN.

Free Trade??? How about calling it Obama Trade?

The United States in the so called “Free Trade” still pays Tariffs to countries like China. However, China does not pay tariffs. How is that fair and not RIGGED?

Countries, like China, do not have to have the same regulations (lowering the standards of any product or service...., this should get the average Environmentalist in an uproar) and taxes too. China does not have the same standards to clear air, water, food, etc... How is that fair?

Thus, it encourages companies to leave the United States and actually lower their standards and pollute the environment. For example, even Obama ADMITS if U.S. Companies like the Coal Companies want to stay here he is going to tax and regulate them out of business. So they are forced to leave or they will be shut down.

Another example is to look at General Motors. They have moved their auto plants overseas on U.S. taxpayer funds. Oh and they have no plans to pay back the U.S. taxpayers ever. Why did they not build here? Because they would have to pay tariffs and they would be taxed and regulated to death.

During the second World War we targeted energy, factories, and industrial companies. That’s always a main target in war in order to shut down the country. That is happening to the United States. We are slowly being deindustrialized and slowly moving everything out.

This Obama trade, just like Obama care, it is a SCAM by our Establishment politicians in order to get rich quick by selling out the USA for 30 coins of silver.

This is why the Establishment leaves our borders wide open in post 911 world. They are trying to as Obama said, “Fundamentally Change the United States Forever” from what George Washington and the rest of the Founding Fathers set up over 200 years ago.

That is the reality that you will never hear in the faked controlled media. This is why many of these same certified on the record lying politicians will tell you to not listen to the counterpoints on the Internet. This is because on the Internet they can’t push their B.S. like they can in the controlled media.

Because it only benefits countries and the crooks in congress by allowing other countries to dump products on our shores and our people loose jobs.

“The trouble is that Americans no longer trust their leaders. If polls can be relied upon, trust in leaders and institutions has plunged to the lowest levels ever recorded, lower even than during the dismal days of the mid-1970s.”

Refusing to allow the American people to read the legislation FIRST before their so called [Representatives] vote on it only adds to their “distrust” in their government leaders!

That one sentence in the entire article is all you need to know as to why the American people are against any “fast-track’ powers being given to this juvenile socialist president!

Cruz just sunk his attempt to become the US President when he hitched his wagon up to the king RINO Ryan and his one world order ilk by supporting this piece of crap president!

Because they don’t understand basic economics. Trade is like the weather, it doesn’t care if you’re for it or against it, it’s going to happen.

When the proceeds of growth are not widely shared, the consensus in favor of pro-growth measures cracks.

...

True, and the same can be said about the growing wealth of the government and those connected to it, but the government keeps growing.

No one is against Free Trade but that is not what we have.

All of these so called Trade agreements have done detrimental harm to our economy and have helped offshore our manufacturing base, etc., etc..

I think what we need to do is withdraw from all of these organizations and just start over. I mean get out of NAFTA, G7, WTO,THE UN, and whatever else. All of these groups will collapse without our participation.

Free trade is a one page document.

A thousand page free trade agreement is a thousand pages of monopolies being divvied out to the highest bidder
