It becomes clear that if you accept the idea that the Federal government has the right to override a state's management of what is inescapably a local matter, the Federal government will corrupt the issue.

States pass stupid laws. Let them pay for it by having people leave or defeat their politicians. The Federal government is incompetent to improve these situations without causing worse damage. The gap will be filled by Marxists trying not to let the crisis go to waste. If something bad or silly is being done, it does not follow that the solution is to undermine the Constitution.

Well there ya’ go. Adding college admission points to black applicants, and subtracting admission points from Asians is therefore consistent with the 14th Amendment.

IIRC it was Clarence Thomas who wrote that the way to avoid the problems of racial discrimination is to stop discriminating.
