Baltimore police have two suspects in custody in the sexual assault and killing of a 16-year-old girl whose body was found in a fire.
Adonay Dixon, 23, and John Childs, 20, are accused of killing Arnesha Bowers. The Baltimore City College student's body was found inside her northeast Baltimore home Sunday morning. Investigators said Bowers was sexually assaulted and fatally strangled with an electrical cord as she was restrained before the house was set on fire.
Asked about a motive, police commanders described the crime as evil.
"The motive was evil. Could you imagine leaving your child at home and two people come in to the house hell bent on death and destruction? I can only imagine what the last moments of Arnesha's life was like. It had to have been pure hell," Police Homicide Unit Maj. Stanley Bradford said.
"Nothing is more important than tracking down and jailing cowards who take the life an innocent child. Nothing," Police Commissioner Anthony Batts said.
"They sexually assaulted, strangled and set fire to Arnesha. We would not be here today announcing this important closure if not for the family and friends and community," Deputy Police Commissioner Kevin Davis said.
Police said both suspects are members of Bloods gang and that Bowers knew them. Police said Bowers knew the suspects and had been hanging out with them hours before the crime. Her grandmother took her home then left for an overnight shift of work at a hospital.
Police said one suspect confessed that they followed Bowers home, because it appeared she and her grandmother had money. They took $500 in valuables.
Police said Bowers' grandmother returned home from work Sunday morning to find police at the scene after discovering the girl's body.
Dixon has a long arrest record, and Childs was out on bail on a felony burglary charge from May in Baltimore County.

Baltimore: “Charm City” should now be known as “City of Death”, “Murder City” or perhaps “Black Death”. There is absolutely no “charm” left in the dead city of Baltimore.

The other crime here rests with the legal system not doing their job
keeping taxpayers safe. Judges are releasing Blacks on the social
justice scheme that is only killing more Blacks, and not implementing

I'm waiting for Judges to just tell Blacks not to come back unless they've

agreed. can you imagine we have come to a point where a justified shooting caused riots but a black girl RAPED, STRANGLED AND BURNED gets no response at all?

At best, they will receive three nutritious meals a day, counseling, college classes, a shop where they can buy snacks, free legal counsel, social workers, art therapy, conjugal visits, a chaplain, recreation and more.
Harm City sounds good too.
