Yes, the original Allegheny County Jail. It closed in 1995. A result of Federal judges deciding that forcing inmates to bunk two to a cell was cruel and unusual. (one of them actually ran around the place with a tape measure walking off square footage).



My grandfather knew the last warden who actually lived at the jail. Nice fellow with a long Polish name which I can't seem to recall.

I saw that when I was first visiting Pittsburgh..actually walked over tat bridge....isn’t that a church in the center, or at least I toured a church close by the jail.
