This genius has missed the mark regarding the opposition of the legislation that would give the POTUS authority to negotiate. But who can blame him, the GOP has not articulated a position clearly one way or another with any substance. And who can blame them? Nobody is allowed to share or discuss what is in the legislation for fear the public would find out.

So the proper articulation of the objection should go like this: Based on the past history of rope-a-dope legislation that has been contrived, manipulated and cajoled out of congress to give the POTUS more authority, we don’t trust the stated premise of the President or Congress. That the language is so secret is additional reason of pause. Granting any additional or extended authority to this President and/or conceding any additional oversight authority from Congress, regardless of past national traditions must be deemed DOA. In light of the secrecy and this President’s history, that seems the prudent approach in defense of what is best for our nation. Show us the legislation and explain what we intend to “negotiate” and we can re-convene.

Whatever the president negotiates and submits to the senate cannot be amended and requires 60 votes to scuttle. Obama absolutely cannot be trusted with this power. No president can given the history of this thing.

And I see the WSJ this morning in an unsigned editorial is calling opponents of TPA "protectionists" and "the dumber or more partisan Republicans." I'm calling our member of congress this morning to once again urge a NO vote. We need to pour it on.
