If I was president, the FedGov would probably be shut down for months while I berated Congress on actually passing a genuine budget.

He’s a fool if he doesn’t. Anyone is a fool if they don’t.

You’re dreaming. No one is going to fix this mess. It’s too far gone.

Cruz is a politician ... I don't think he IS the one that would do it .... Trump, on the other hand, whether you like him or not, holds no allegience to politics and politicians .... HIS god is money and "the deal" ... (as an 11 year veteren of in-home sales ... I know exactly what "making the deal" means ... it IS juice)

PS ... I'm (at this point) still a Cruz man

I sincerely propose dismantling ALL federal alphabet agencies,
putting all their employees on a lifetime federal government employee hiring ban,

and making Congress start over.

Perhaps, also, an amendment to the Constitution that clarifies that no regulation will have the force of law unless passed by both houses of Congress and signed by the president. Individually.

He/She needs to fire the entire 4th branch of gov’t, the Regulatory Branch, with special emphasis on the EPA.

Agree. If a Republican is elected president, his party will ensure that nothing is reformed. The GOP loves big government and spending. They just want it to benefit their particular constituency — and we all know that does not include conservatives.

If’n I were President I would DECLARE a “Jihad” against the following agencies:
IRS
NSA
CIA
DoD
FBI
EPA
Dept of ED

Right on, USNV! The only question that really matters. No time for anything less.

Each candidates’ supporters can outline why they think their respective person 1)has the will to do what needs to be done, however unpleasant, 2)has a record, publically or privately, to show (s)he makes the unpopular, but necessary decisions, and 3)understands that to do this they’ll need to assemble a team of like-minded, and equally strong-willed people to execute the plan and the endurance to see it through.

Interesting to see people’s responses here and if and how the candidates themselves adjust their campaigns to show some resolve.

If’n I were President I would....

...give the Left plenty to be enraged about. I would steamroll them with an avalanche of downsizings and/or elimination of many redundant functions. And believe me, there are countless redundancies and unnecessary activities. The government could easily be cut back by one third of its size.

If I were the next president and congress refused to close down unneeded departments of our bloated government.

I would simply start firing people left and right and refuse to rehire anyone to replace them until the department was dead functionally.

I would start with the department of education and move on to the environmental related departments, after gutting the civil rights division and most of the IRS

You sound like many others who will stay home if their choice doesn’t get the nomination.

I’m for Walker and Cruz but am realistic on what they would actually be able to accomplish.
