Former Gov. Jeb Bushs campaign is in trouble. This week alone, it has sustained a top-level campaign shake-up and reports have circulated that it may fall short of its fundraising goal. But a review of the public record shows it already fell way short of its fundraising goal, and has been behind predictions for months. Not by a few million dollars, either, but by as much as $400 million or 80 percent as the most optimistic predictions Bush loyalists have circulated.
All of this campaign shuffles and fundraising shortfalls before Mr. Bush has even declared his candidacy. What happened?
On Nov. 26, 2012, less than a month after telling Ann Romney to find new stables for her horses (because she was heading to Washington), Romney pollster Neil Newhouse was meeting with Mr. Bush and other Bush alumni at a downtown D.C. hotel to put the past behind them and talk about 2016.
Less than two years later, in the fall of 2014, those Bush alumni began quietly spreading the word: Dont join the other campaigns yet, boys, the boss hasnt made a decision yet. Meanwhile on the media circuit, family members from mother to brother began chirping their approval.
Just after New Years Day, Mr. Bush launched his Right to Rise PAC; met privately with former Gov. Mitt Romney; and cleared his biggest rival for moderate Republican donors from the field before January 2015 was up.
Those were heady times, and Bush loyalists were excited.
Jeb Bushs allies are setting a fundraising goal of $100 million in the first three months of this year, Bloomberg reported on Jan. 9.

Good news story of the day.
” But a review of the public record shows it already fell way short of its fundraising goal, and has been behind predictions for months. Not by a few million dollars, either, but by as much as $400 million”
$400 million? I wonder where that figure comes from.
Then the Jebster doubled down on attacking the Wacko-Birds... Brilliant!
Excellent if true. Go home now, Jebster.
If heaven forbids is the nominee, then I am writing in a true conservative for president. ME!!!
I am in California so my vote doesn’t count however I will not vote for Bush, not one drop of conservative blood in those veins.
The problem with the campaign is not the staff, it’s Jeb; which is good for America.
Something really weird about really tall dudes marrying midgets. It is creepy.
Jeb spent his time with Beltway insiders while even liberal candidates like Chris Christie knew to reach out through the Republican Governors Association.
I don’t know a single conervative/republican that would want him to get the nomination. Not one.
JEB is a selfish prick.
Vote for Clinton? Never. I'd rather vote for a masturbating monkey that had been dead for a week.
Vote for Jeb? No, I just don't think I could bring myself to say "yeah, I want him in office." I realize abstaining or writing-in someone else is bad, in-effect a virtual vote for Clinton.
Then again, if it comes down to Clinton or Bush, the next 4 years are going to be bad, very bad. Maybe it would be better to have that tagged on the 'rats. I just hope the last 8 years have been bad enough that a lot of the Country has woken up to how failed "progressive" policies are. We'll see. If that nightmare that is Clinton can get elected in this environment, America as land of the free is finished.
There is a 0.00% chance of me voting for Jeb in the primary. If, by some miracle of MSM love he ends up running against Clinton... That would be a true dilemma.
I also wouldn’t be surprised. With every day I draw a breath, it becomes more obvious to me that we live in Satan’s realm and there are very few “with power” who are the “good guys”.

The New York Times is doing an excellent job of rehabilitating Rubio to the Republican base.
Bush team has been feeding the Rubio stories to the Ny Times. Unintended consequences.
The Big Corporate money will quickly move to Rubio. The money guys know Bush can not win the nomination, let alone the presidency - then this turns into a two way race I think - Walker vs Rubio.
