What really is REALLY happening is the enemedia has decided to get into the Reality TV game. This image depicts it perfectly:

Have after "news", interviews on CNN of the principals. All the participants get lots of interviews, eventually will write books. The saga plays out not at the pool, but in the media, the courts, publishers, magazines, and in the minds of millions. All this about a nanosecond decision to pull a gun and holster it a nanosecond later.
