Nothing new here.
With grading papers and lesson planning, their workday doesn’t end. These teachers are just trying to stand up for their jobs and rights. They are being sold out by people making six figures who are sacrificing their career longevity. It is the administrators who just about never lose their job and who mismanage the schools who are ruining education, not the teachers. The whole Michelle Rhee crowd of education reformers are bad news.
Chicago teachers had signs against Emanuel and against Obama when they walked out. Unfortunately their leaders made it just about money and left them in the wind on job stability issues.
When I vote Republican I am not trying to vote for ripping off public workers of their already earned pensions.
