I am timing my next trip to Việt Nam because I expect restrictions on travel, domestic and international to be in place at some point as we approach the elections. Those restrictions are less likely to be outright bans than forced ticket price hikes and currency restrictions to some untenable amount of money that one can carry. I have also arranged to send money bit by bit so that I have funds when I am there even if I am limited to some absurd tiny amount of money I can carry. I could get it electronically but once I am there but I suspect that will be cut off, too. I may well be wrong on timing but it is all a guess and get stuck on this side of the Pacific, but I am thinking next summer (2016) will be critical. If travel gets shut down I would rather be there than here. It is best I have money when I get there but if I run out and am stuck there I will be fine. My vicarious "grandchildren" in two families will keep me well.

They are starting to restrict our movement. The noose is slowly getting tighter. Somewhere in that secret trade pact is going to be something to the effect that globally weapons should be limited. You watch.
