U.S. Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) today presented an amendment to the Gang of Eight immigration bill that would improve our nation’s legal immigration system by increasing high-skilled temporary worker visas, called H-1B visas, by 500 percent.

Imagine that, Cruz is hissing his own disinformation. Genius!

Not when the company literally has a gun to its head being told that if they do not hire H1B visa holders that they will pay higher taxes and face increased regulations.

Any political candidate or sitting politician who is willing to support this, who is willing to bring in immigrants to replace American workers who are ALREADY working in a job is not fit to be called an American.

Sounds like you're talking about Ted Cruz who wants to increase H-1Bs 500%.

If Americans owned more shares of companies, this would probably not happen.

It is moral to fight injustice. It is immoral to cave in to it without going public.

It’s important to point out that Disney is not an outlier, it’s the norm. Loopholes in the H-1B program make it irresistible to corporations, whose sole goal has become to maximize profits and shareholder value.

But these companies aren't replacing marketing, business development, legal, or executive staff with H1B's...so what does that tell you about how they regard IT as a profession?

H1B is only a symptom of the giant credibility problem IT has developed in the eyes of American corporate management.

His is just one voice pushing for increased immigration in a time of record low job participation. That is immoral.

Would you be opposed to individuals in league with:

Wernher von Braun?
Kurt Gödel?
Albert Einstein?
Nikola Tesla?
Danyu Lin?

and hundreds of thousands of others?

http://www.psmag.com/nature-and-technology/immigrants-make-american-science-great-75166

What you are doing is confusing present ‘abuses’ of H1B with the benefits of H1B.

To get world class talent to America the H1B is used for work authorization. Hundreds of thousands of H1Bs are granted to eminent scientists and researchers to American universities and that keeps American science as tops in the world. H1B is a vital part of the scientific exchange and support infrastructure.

And we’re not talking H1Bs for IT Workers.

Think of H1B as a high performance vehicle.

When Obama drives the vehicle he runs people over, he runs into things, he crashes the vehicle and he runs away.

The vehicle is not the problem. The driver is.

Ted Cruz will drive the vehicle in the manner it was designed to be driven and he will keep America at the top by the way he drives.

C’Mon anti-Cruz trolls! Jump in here and show us what you got!

Or it tells you something about their beliefs regarding the elite class versus the worker class.

“Of course, this business model is paid for by destroying the livelihoods and dignity of tens of thousands of American workers.”

Yes, but they’re not union workers. Or if they are, their union didn’t pay enough tribute to the king.

I should point out that I am a strong Cruz supporter and agree with him on most things. In this position, however, I think he is dead wrong and hope he comes around and realizes just how bad his stand is.

The first three, at least, came to America as a direct result of war or impending war.

But, through it all the principle remains the same: you don’t bring in immigrants in a time of record low job participation for American workers.

Screw you, H-1B is a wage lowering scam. Everyone knows it. It's happened to me, I had to train my replacement. So get a clue.

It’s important for you to know, Hostage, that I have been among the most vocal Ted Cruz supporters. I think he’s dead wrong on this issue. How powerful is this issue? I think from when it first hit the news is the start of his stalling in the polls.

He needs to side with Sessions. Period. If you have any desire to see him as president — as do I — then you’ll write him and tell him to back off this position.

I have done that.

Oh so you agree that top scientific talent (not IT workers) should be brought to America so that they can be fruitful in America rather than somewhere else.

Now that you’re backtracking, maybe you’ll show some class and apologize for your knee-jerk perspective? I’m thinking you don’t have the class.

What you are doing is confusing present ‘abuses’ of H1B with the benefits of H1B.

Lately the abuses far outnumber the benefits. And I highly doubt that there are "hundreds of thousands" of researches in our universities on H-1bs. Hundreds, perhaps thousands would likely be more accurate.

Ted Cruz will drive the vehicle in the manner it was designed to be driven and he will keep America at the top by the way he drives

And how will he do that? How will a President Cruz increase the H-1b numbers by 500% while ensuring that they are only used for "eminent scientists and researchers"?
