US strategy on Iraq 'not yet complete' - Obama
BBC News ^ | June 8, 2015

The US does not yet have a "complete strategy" for helping Iraq regain territory from Islamic State (IS), President Barack Obama has said.

He said the Pentagon was reviewing ways to help Iraq train and equip its forces.

US officials cited a lack of training as a major factor in the fall of Ramadi.

But Mr Obama said that the 3,000 US service personnel in Iraq sometimes found themselves with "more training capacity than we've got recruits".

The pentagon has probably given him at least half a dozen options for dealing with ISIS. He just can’t decide so he blames them.

What's the strategy? He's already figuratively and, today, literally turned his back on them.

But wait, I thought he left behind a Sovereign, Stable and Self-Reliant Iraq in 2011? Or was that a different country.

There are still some areas not yet controlled by the former Baath Party / ISIS. When that day comes, the Obamessiah’s objective will have been attained via his strategy of pull-out and inattention.

Syria trades oil for Isis for arms and money. Edergan gives AQ arms Zero gives two others arms and they go to another side. Iraq leaves arms for ISIS. I understand it completely.

“People say that we have few options left, but that isn’t true. The finest military and foreign policy brains from Marie Harf on down tell me that we can choose between defeat, surrender, betrayal, retreat, capitulation, or (here’s the one I like) abject apology for offending our Islamic overlords by breathing. We’re looking into those options now. It’s all Bush’s fault, by the way.”

"The pentagon has probably given him at least half a dozen options for dealing with ISIS. He just can’t decide so he blames them...."

... Exactly, To believe that the US has no strategy is preposterous.

.... Heck .... the DoD has planned responses for almost every scenario we can think of. Heck .... they even have scenarios in the event of a military invasion from Canada, Caribbean countries, Cuba, Mexico .... you name it! Of course the latter has already happened without military action .... they just walk across the border.

Yes, virtually every imaginable scenario has been analyzed, gamed and are updated regularly as situations change.

At least that’s how it used to be.

You mean there’s more great strategizing coming from the white house? It’s worked great so far.

Obama won’t even say what the goal is. He just wants to pass the time until the next president gets in to office.

Obama is obfuscating, deflecting, avoiding and backpedalling on the issue of a strategy to defeat ISIS, to see if he can skate all the way to the end of his term and drop the problem in the lap of his successor. He said the same thing in 2014 about not having a strategy to defeat these murderous, savage barbarians in Iraq and Syria. He doesn't want to deal with them or make a decision that would go against his promise to the far Left not to engage in any wars as president.

The problem is, the rest of the world, especially the radical Islamic terrorists in the Middle East, is not cooperating with his liberal utopian view of the world. His lack of leadership is putting the world and this country and its citizens in grave danger. Soon ISIS will start attacking us here in the US, their stated goal.
