One resident, Benet Embry, a black man, posted on Facebook about the events leading up to the police call. "Look, I LIVE in this community and this ENTIRE incident is NOT racial at all," Embry wrote. "A few THUGS spoiled a COMMUNITY event by fighting, jumping over fences into a PRIVATE pool, harassing and damaging property. Not EVERYTHING is about RACE. WE have other issues that NEED our attention other flights of made up make believe causes." In another post he is critical of media coverage of the incident. "I've never seen such irresponsible reporting and miss management of media...
Is it really so hard to understand? She extended the invitations so that party goers arrived at the same place and time. Perhaps she also did more in terms of coordinating who would bring refreshments.
Indeed....there were a few male antagonists confronting him at that moment.
Worked for me one night when confronted by three of barky’s sons in a mall parking lot...
Whoa! That happened here in GA?
Bold bunch. Then again, so are these folks in Dallas.
Thats when both of the women attacked me, the teen said.
Not an upscale city, but Craig Ranch is moderately upscale. I live in a very peaceful neighbord not far from there .. and very diverse. Folks from all over the world are moving here at high rates.
McKinney has rich, poor, middle ... mostly meshed together, although the east side is pretty run down.
There is section 8 housing here too. The closest one is still under construction right between my neighnorhood and Craig Ranch.
We have many upscale neighborhoods. CR has some parts that are upscale but mostly mid range homes. (crammed in like sardines!) I personally dislike the area but each to their own. McKinney is growing faster than the infrastructure and support. Wish it was still a small town.
The apartment buildings? Lovely, eh?
Good example of how descriptive words are nice, but video is infinitely better.
People everywhere need to get into the mindset that if they encounter a situation like this, and are able to safely do so, they need to whip out their phones and start taping.
Edited/limited perspective video only works if there’s no other video to challenge it.
After watching the video, the cop was in the right to draw his gun. In the video the cop has the girl on the ground then two teens come up behind him. For anyone in a charged atmosphere this is a dangerous situation to be in. The cop drew his gun but did not point the gun directly at the kids. Instead he only raised the gun halfway to intimidate the two individuals who were creeping up behind him. They backed off. This officer drew his gun, yes, but as a tool of intimidation. Had the kids rushed the officer then he could have raised it further to protect himself. The adage goes if you draw your weapon you must be prepared to use it. Sometimes the mere drawing of a weapon is enough for some to back down. The officer never fully raised his weapon to fire. The drawing of the weapon was enough to have the kids back away.
I see nothing wrong with the officer drawing his weapon, only raising it halfway never pointing it directly at the kids who tried to rush him from behind, as a tool for intimidation in this scenario because the officer was in a dangerous situation.
We had a similar issue right up until I sat on my front porch cleaning my shotgun.
