You can’t justify the execution.
I did, better cop a plea because he could go down for the big one.
Socratic method. Now, can you answer my question?
Maybe he just wanted to make sure the unarmed suspect was really far away before he shot him?
Yup. On the other hand, if police stop doing their jobs, let's stop giving them taxpayer money.
I have no problem with cops quitting their jobs in protest. But I do have problems with work slowdowns.
If we're not going to have police, let's don't keep paying for police.
After reviewing the video, got to admit, the cop is wrong here, criminally wrong.
I agree. The cop was criminally wrong. I just had a question about the nature of the charges. My question was answered.
Texas is unique in the use of lethal force to defend property in itself.
Are you going to keep answering my question with a question? I asked first.
Motive?
How about “I have a gun and a badge and you don’t”.
I’ve been all over the country and have run into the good, the bad and the ugly.
The good have the old Peace Officer attitude.
They realise they are as constrained by the law as anyone else.
The bad don’t think the law constrains them and they show it in numerous small ways.
The ugly are like the cop under discussion.
They ARE the law and have elevated themselves to Little Tin God status.
Judge
Jury
Executioner
Why not?
My question was answered on this thread. I agree with you.
Message to Charleston cops, back off. Let the inmates run the asylum for a while.
If cops and their unions REALLY want to see how that works, they need to work for laws that allow citizens to defend themselves.
After years of lobbying to make to make it illegal for "civilians" to defend themselves, they've created the perfect union shop situation.
If he was over charged then that could be a problem.
I would say that if the cop is a racist and that can be proven, then you could argue premeditation due to hate. This would be especially so if the cop had a previous record of violence against minorities. And that in turn would expose the police department to be sued by the relatives of the victim giving a civil suite lots of weight.
