Over the weekend, by way of the NRA some troubling news spread across the Internet: Commonly used and unregulated Internet discussions and videos about guns and ammo could be closed down under rules proposed by the State Department, amounting to a gag order on firearm-related speech,' This stems from an Obama Regime reinterpretation of the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). The State Department is updating the ITAR, which implements the Federal Arms Export Control Act (AECA). The net effect of this new ITAR amplification would be to reclassify gun blogs, forums, chat rooms, and firearms how-to web pages as export restricted firearms technical data. And get this: Per the proposed new rules, Mother May I permission must be granted before posting any such data, and failure to do so could result in fines of up to $1 million and prison sentences up to 20 years.
Well, I have a news flash for BHOs minions in the State Department: In this nation we have a pesky little scrap of paper that trumps all other pieces of paper, called The Constitution, and it includes the First Amendment, which guarantees our freedom of press.
I must illustrate an important point: With the exception of common law libel restrictions, there are no limits to the freedom of press in these United States. For the purpose of educating the public on that point, Im posting this little gem of a files link. There, I did it. Ill see you in court, Mrs. Lynch.
Please contact your congressional representatives and voice any concerns about this proposed ITAR rules change. JWR
The reason that it is the FIRST amendment is because it is the MOST IMPORTANT!
[snip] Software is now a defense article. Encryption programs like TrueCrypt as well as 3D models of firearms would fall into this category.
Technical data is re-defined to include anything related to the development, production, operation, installation, maintenance, repair, overhaul, or refurbishing of a defense article (firearm).
This administration wants to let illegal crooks in and does that...but wants to disarm American citizens? Obama loves 'collectivists".......a pox on all who voted this communist into office!
Cross it and they may find out about the SECOND amendment.
I guess Obama is going to do for Internet postings what he did for gun sales, I predict gun discussions and schematics will start popping up at an exponential rate just flip the bird at him and his regulations
It is time for Common Sense Speech Control
/Progressive Academia
This is very correct.
Many worried that his Excellency, Obama the Liar extraordinaire would go after our individual civil rights piecemeal.
This is two for one special for the tyrannical liberals, take out part of the 1st and 2nd amendments in one fell swoop.
If the 2A was defended a fraction as much as the 1A has, we actually have a national RKBA.
They like to use the word “comprehensive” too. Sounds impressive but is meaningless just like Common Sense.
The answer from freedom to censorship should always be more free-speech, not less.
We should all be posting and re-posting those technical details - make them regret they even thought about trying to suppress freedom and liberty.
What is to stop the communists from trying to restrict any discussions about guns as falling under this rubric?
Or is that stating the obvious endgame for this tyranny?

Fantastic!
BTW, this is the link they mentioned in the article:

Some other country will get the information and post it. Then what. Fines for looking at it?
So some UN agreement now trumps the Bill of Rights?
Well then maybe they need to censor the internet and keep that dangerous information at bay.....
Hello slippery slope....
Constitution?
We don’t need no steenkin’ constitution!
“the documents that restrict what gear, tech, and info can be exported outside the United States. “
I am certain that whatever we discuss, the Russkies, the Norks and the Chicoms already know. The jihadists believe that Allah will guide their bullets into the bodies of infidels, so what do they care about technical data? /s
