Qatar to be stripped of 2022 World Cup, according to country's whistleblower
Daily Mail ^ | June 7, 2015 | Nick Harris

Qatar are likely be stripped of the 2022 World Cup, according to a former senior figure in their bid team, who turned whistleblower to expose corruption.

Phaedra Almajid says the weight of evidence of wrongdoing from her and others will be so overwhelming that FIFA will be left with no option but to find another host.

Almajid has been under protective custody of the FBI and she fears her safety will be compromised further if the tournament is taken away from the tiny oil-rich state, who shocked the world by winning the right to stage the 2022 event in 2010.

While hoping justice is done, Almajid admits that the prospect ‘scares me a lot’ because some ‘extremists’ may feel she played a role in that happening.

She said: ‘There are people who are p***** off with me [for speaking out], and what really p***** them off is that I’m a female, Muslim whistleblower.’

Another consequence of recent events, Almajid believes, is that outgoing FIFA president Sepp Blatter may try to take 2022 from Qatar as part of a radical reform agenda designed to win him praise ‘and save his skin.’

Not a soccer fan, but I never understood why you’d hold the World Cup in a place where the temperature is over 120 degrees for many days in the summer. Who the hell would play in those conditions?

Russia will keep the 2018 World Cup—construction is too far advanced to give it to someone else. But 2022 may be a different story—the majority of the stadiums planned for Qatar in 2022 have yet to be built or are only early stages of construction.

Really?

A Moslem named “Phaedra?”

And a guy named “Sepp Blatter?”

So what’s his middle name? “Tick?”

The various Emirates have all the money ever printed, so they probably plan a 1 square mile building, under one roof, all air conditioned.

I’ve only heard bits and pieces of the story but I believe the Qatar matches were planned to be played in the cooler months of November and December which conflicts with the meat of the European regular season schedule. They were not jazzed about that at all. The whole thing was a mess from the beginning.

They could play them at night or indoors.

Because you paid hundreds of millions in bribes to make sure you can.

The 2022 World Cup is supposed to take place in November of that year, not the summer, due to the heat. Which of course shifts all the soccer games in Britain for the year before and the year after.

Anyone who doesn’t think that Vlad and his pals weren’t as crooked as corkscrews regarding Russia’s bid is delusional. They absolutely should lose it.There are plenty of cities that could host it on short notice...London being just one.

The FBI Stargate Team will travel into the future to strip Qatar of its World Cup, only to find that the Qatari Emir is the current FBI Director. He sends them into the past to arrest Almajid and return her to 2022 which successfully prevents her from completing her investigation.

A total waste of time and effort and grossly unfair to the players who had nothing to do with anything.

I’m another not-a-soccer-fan, but I had some MHz Euro news discussion group on last night (waiting for the crime drama), and the Euros were not happy that the US was leading the corruption probe, especially from a taxation POV, rather than an historical soccer playing country.

The roundtable brought up Puty-put being vehemently against the US being involved in the probe too.

I can see why now.

if the West were not in decline, we would cut off all Sharia compliant thugacracies completely, not even consider things like Formula One, or FIFA games.
