Unless you've been under a rock for most of today, you're aware that former Texas Gov. Rick Perry (R) has entered the 2016 election. While the announcement was fairly standard for a potential candidate (minus the immense amount of decorated Navy SEALS that some people may or may not have recognized), one thing in particular stood out: his epic country-rap campaign song.

Take note, every other candidate running for president:

The song is a Rick Perry remix of the Colt Ford song "Answer to No One," which is still a pretty badass song even without the added references to Rick Perry. (Sample lyrics: I won't back up, I don't back down/I've been raised up to stand my ground/Take my job but not my guns/Tax my check till I ain't got none)

Twitter was quick to recognize the genius/hilarity of the song:

Answer To No One (Rick Perry version)

Rick is farther down the list of my preferred candidates but I do like his Texas style.

Answer to No One seems more appropriate as an Obama campaign song.

Perry isn’t the worst choice.

I like Rick Perry, he is not my first choice but after watching him as governor of Texas, I see him as a good conservative guy.

My fear about Perry is that he’d just put this crony capitalism business on steroids. The post-mortem of the Gardisil incident made it pretty clear that he took money from Pfizer to make sure it got on the Texas Mandated Vaccine List.

We’ve already got way too much of that stuff going on in Washington.

I remember the Gardisil incident and what I remember is when people objected he said they could opt out. That is what I want in a politician, one who listens when the people speak!

Yeah, he offered the opt-out after his hand had been caught in the cookie jar.

Which is still better than Ben Carson, who says he’d mandate every vaccine coming down the pike.

The Lutrell boys looked more like bodyguards than supporters - constant vigilance is very comforting, but I don’t know that they really helped his announcement looking that uncomfortable. And I’m a big fan of theirs.

Did you like the corruption around the Guardasil fiasco too?

I mean who doesn’t like a politician that has his relatives on all the advisory boards and relatives working at companies getting contract like delivering the Guardasil.

IIRC, you had to request to opt out...but the option was always there.

Rick does seem to learn from his mistakes, so there’s that. However, it’s only a matter of time before the media drags out the hunting camp nonsense that they smeared him with last time. I hope he has a better response planned this time around.

I’m not voting for any amnesty candidates.

So far, it’s Cruz or Walker.
Everyone else wants to abandon the rule of law and surrender the country to fraudulently documented foreigners.

Governor Perry and his campaign people have got to be proactive in fighting the racism claims. They need to be reminding the country about the state of Texas agreeing to take in three times more refugees from Hurricane Katrina than officials initially expected.

From PoliticalForum.com:

Perry declared an emergency disaster for the state, freeing up money to provide services for hurricane victims.

The hurricane “has created emergency conditions in Texas that will require all available resources of both federal and state governments to overcome,” Perry said. “We will do all we can as a state and a people to help our neighbors to the east who have lost so much.”

Perry, who agreed to Louisiana Gov. Kathleen Blanco’s request to take in the evacuees, said Texas naturally wanted to help its neighbor.

“I think we all understand it’s by the grace of God that this terrible tragedy didn’t come ashore a few hundred miles west,” Perry said. “And knowing such a catastrophe could have happened here, I think Texans have a very special bond between our neighbors to the east who are going through an absolutely unbelievable ordeal at this point in time.”

yes,wow,what an evil evil man.
