BALTIMORE - (WJZ) -Dozens of murders and shootings in the month of May alone. Now, the Baltimore City Police Department is trying to hunt down the people pulling the trigger.

Police say they have all hands on deck trying to catch the people responsible for this violent streak, but experts say it’s a problem that won’t be solved quickly.

Police continue their hunt for suspects– arresting 10 people and have open warrants on 11 more.

But just how difficult is it for the police to go after that many gunmen?

It’s a daunting task.

The police commissioner has requested federal help, asking for more agents and prosecutors here in Baltimore.

Police say the warrant apprehension task force has arrested 83 people with open warrants in the city over the last week.

And then they run into the "snitches get stitches" wall of silence. Nothing will be solved and the murderers will go free.

The police commissioner has requested federal help

Not ‘throwing’ all the blame on the PD, but they had this ongoing problem and for whatever reason, kind of slacked off, now call in the Feds.
Like the camel’s nose in the tent, if and when the ‘problem’ is resolved, will the Commissioner be complaining about ‘Federal Interference’ when the Feds are slow leaving.

Crap like this will just make it easier for ‘Federal overseeing’ of the cities and PD’s etc...

I can understand the reluctance for the Police sticking their necks out in an unfriendly environment (Mayor and City Attorney), maybe they should go find another job, ESPECIALLY if they refuse or are afraid of internal problems if they do their job.

Y’all want a good laugh, actually watch the video. I didn’t but this newsbabe does every story with the same sense of false urgency, with some words overemphasized and others spoken slowly, cause they are like important and stuff.

I am not talking about then.
I am talking about the period after the ‘riots’.
I don’t blame the Police, they were put in a ‘bad situation’ but in any other job, if you don’t want to do the work you move along.
