McDowell told WTHR the state will only step in if sexual incidents involve special education students, and that students watching their classmates engage in sex acts at school isn’t big concern.

“This doesn’t pose any danger to the other students even if they did see it,” McDowell said.

McDowell needs to be removed immediately

That one is right up there with Scheifert’s “our job is to decide what people need to know...”. Neither of them seem to comprehend just what it is that is wrong with what they said.

If there is no danger to other students, then why is the Indiana Dept of Child Services investigating?

McDowell is just a spokesman so removing him won’t change anything but that answer is exactly why the state needs to step in.

By “state” he means the department of education, not law enforcement. If their state is like mine, the department of education investigates only in cases of maltreatment of a student, usually by a teacher.

Not agreeing that the video wasn’t harmful for kids to see, but as this wasn’t done to the students by a teacher nor did a teacher make the students watch the video, the department of education has no jurisdiction. Law enforcement, however, does.

The only reason this makes the news is that it was filmed at school. There are videos/pictures of students like this almost everyday in every school in every state. Think your kids’ school is different? Think again.
