One difference between this situation and the Branch Davidian siege in 1993. The Feds ran the operations against the Branch Davidians. The Twin Peaks action was local and state run.

The Feds ran the operations against the Branch Davidians. The Twin Peaks action was local and state run.Yes, the operation appears to be local and state run as far as we know at this time. But still looks like somebody in one of the LEOs screwed the pooch and innocent people got killed.
We won't know until more verifiable information comes out. Lots of contradictory reports being tossed around by witnesses, lawyers, and media interests at this time.
