Support is growing within the Church of England to rewrite its official liturgy to refer to God as female following the selection of the first women bishops. Growing numbers of priests already insert words such as she and mother informally into traditional service texts as part of a move to make the language of worship more inclusive, it has been claimed. But calls for a full overhaul of liturgy to recognise the equal status of women have already been discussed informally at a senior level.

The feminine is already used when describing Holy Wisdom or the Greek term Sophia. But this movement is heretical.

I don’t think that the Protestants include the book of Wisdom in their canon. IMHO, a lot of the Reformation was inspired by a fear of women, especially the Blessed Virgin. Interesting to see this come back around. I also know that some of the Protestant services are using eastern culture chanting.... while at the same time dissing the Rosary and the Divine Mercy Chaplet.

While having all the best of both genders, our Creator has made it clear He is our Father.

Jesus called God His Father. Jesus taught us to pray ... Our Father... If it’s good enough for Jesus it’s good enough for me.
and yes... you are right... it’s heretical.

I knew a Catholic woman who asked her “Priest” if God was male or female. The “Priest” said “You can think of God as female if you want”.

Grammatical gender transcends biological sex.
Sophia, meaning wisdom, is a feminine word, but NOT because it represents a female entity.

The feminist heresy will lead to disappearance of the State Churches of Europe and the Mainline Churches in the US.
Heresies always fail and the true, biblical Church will always prevail.
And those who are blind, who are misleading the blind, will pay a terrible price.

The Liberal Church sees God as a transgender, possible a RuePaul type of person. Very strange.
To: C19fan
There is no way to make it clearer that you’re not only not serious about your Christian faith, but are determined to make a mockery of it, than to make an issue of the Creator’s gender.

That is just language. In foreign languages there are feminine and masculine words.
Hagia Sophia in Turkey is “holy wisdom”
this is just feminist doublespeak to confuse the issue.
Feminism is just a cult and I suspect the “growing movement” is just a handful of nutjobs who want to seem important.
Remember the big Augusta golf stink of feminists? they had a “massive /s” protest of less than 20 people.

God cannot be female. How on earth could the Virgin Mary have given birth to Jesus, if we have to think of God as a female?
It makes NO sense.

We need a new gender neutral word. Gender confused and gender cross overs cannot legitimately own the term boy or girl if they were not born with the correct equipment, regardless the degree of untreated pathology from which they suffer. Likewise, I sympathize with those who wrestle with a gender definition for God. Seems like God wouldnt be either or, but both. Human decernment is inadequate for knowing the real true awesome nature of God...other then what he has chosen to tell us.

So what? Many churches teach things not found in the Scriptures. (The "sinner's prayer", for instance.)
Man can invent whatever religion he wants - God lets them. And many do so. But as Jesus said:
"Ye hypocrites, well did Isaiah prophesy of you, saying,
This people honoreth me with their lips;
But their heart is far from me.
But in vain do they worship me,
Teaching as their doctrines the precepts of men." - Matthew 15:7-9
Judging by the abundance of man-made doctrines, there are lots of people out there worshipping God in vain. They honor Him with their lips, but their hearts are far from Him. They might as well sleep in on Sunday, because their worship accomplishes nothing.

To: Awgie
Jesus repeatedly refers to His Father, taught us to pray to Our Father, refers to "
HIM who sent me", and is clearly identified as The Son.
But, maybe some people know better than God does how we should address Him.
