Challenged by a New Hampshire woman, Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker held firm Saturday on his recent comments about ultrasounds and defended Wisconsin’s law that requires doctors to conduct them before performing abortions.

“I’m pro-life, but if someone’s pro-choice, don’t you want an informed choice?” Walker said in response to a question from Mary Heslin of Concord. […]

Walker reiterated those comments Saturday and charged the media with twisting the facts around Wisconsin’s law. …

Funny how the media steps outside itself and refers to itself in the third person.

"I wouldn't back down from where I stand either, so that's fine," she said. "I can respect that, but it's bad when you have a stand that restricts (rights)."

Let's see the stand that restricts "rights" requires a show and tell of pictures of a living being and the "rights" being restricted is the right to end human life. After sufficient time to ponder the relative values at stake perhaps this woman can come to a decision from which she need not back down.

“I’m pro-life, but if someone’s pro-choice, don’t you want an informed choice?”

That's an excellent answer. Pro-aborts fall all over themselves trying to prevent "choice" from being informed. They only want women to be pressured and lied to to get them to have abortions. Heaven forbid they should have all the facts with which to make a choice.

Why are they so ashamed to be called pro-kill? They insist on the term “pro-choice” but only one decision is “correct”. The other is “wrong”. Life is wrong, death is right. They fill trash cans and biohazard bags with the outcome of their “choice”. But can’t bear to see the result or hear the actual descriptions. Wonder why. /s

I notice when lefty politicians speak on social issues they are never made to go in detail by the msm. They say they are pro-abort, pro-gay marriage and then move on to other issues.

Conservative politicians should just say they’re pro-life and pro-traditional marriage...no need to get into the weeds.

And the AP writer, Ronayne, still didn't clarify exactly what Walker said in the interview, making it sound as though his "cool" comments were part of his stance on abortion.

Here's what the lefty blogs and media (cnn and npr) claimed he said:

Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker believes forced ultrasounds are "just a cool thing for women," a handful of online news sites reported Wednesday.

That's not exactly what Walker said.

In an interview Friday with conservative radio host Dana Loesch, Walker defended a bill that he signed into law in 2013 mandating that women seeking abortions must also be provided with ultrasounds.

Senate Bill 206 reads, "This bill requires … that before a person may perform or induce an abortion the physician … [must] perform, or arrange for a qualified person to perform, an ultrasound on the pregnant woman using whichever transducer the woman chooses."

Walker bragged in his interview with Loesch that he and his team, "defunded Planned Parenthood." "We also signed a law that requires an ultrasound. Which, the thing about that, the media tried to make that sound like that was a crazy idea," he said.

"Most people I talk to, whether they're pro-life or not, I find people all the time who'll get out their iPhone and show me a picture of their grandkids' ultrasound and how excited they are, so that's a lovely thing. I think about my sons are 19 and 20, you know we still have their first ultrasound picture. It's just a cool thing out there," he said.

it's hardly the same thing as what's been attributed to him.

It’s a sad day when one has to “defend” their stance against the slaughtering of babies.
