They had months and months of warning to get out not that anyone with a brain should have not known this was a real bad place

I am weary of stories of Americans who think they are immune to the hatred and violence that has taken many foreign lives in recent years

You got it. I worked in the ME and N and W Africa for many yrs including Yemen. The had a civil war going then too but not like today. I knew all the risks, didnt ever expect someone to come to my rescue. I was making good money and that was my priority. My passport listed no next of kin.

They have been trying to get out for months but our government decided that it was too risky to use military assets in the area to evacuate them.

Our govt advised citizens of way s to leave by contacting other embassies. Sorry but I am not for sending in the military to rescue naive fools who make bad choices

Yet our own embassy staff had to leave their weapons and run. Last I knew we still had special forces out in the desert there but like you say, Screw em.

Back in the old days when competent adults ran our govt embassies had plans to destroy or neutralize classifed information and weapons if they had to “evacuate”

Anyone who has to “run” is working for a total administration of incompetents, or traitors, or both

Btw do a web search on American evacuation of Yemen and you will find that all nonemergency US citizens were told to leave Yemen in 2013, the US pulled our last US forces out of Aden in March of 2015, and in April 2015 the US and UK thanked Russia for airlifting and sealifting hundreds or foreign national including ours out of Yemen

We didn’t keave anyone there, some idiots chose to stay

Kinda like the idiots who keep swimming at the beach when the lifeguards yell “shark ! out of the water!” and then expect the lifeguard to come rescue them when the shark attacks

State Department reportedly deems mission to rescue Americans in Yemen too risky

Of course it’s too risky

After the 2013 announcement for Americans to leave Yemen and expect only limited US assistance, the state department shut down embassies and consulates throught the region, culminating in withdrawing even our special forces in March 2015. Hundreds of US and other foreign nationals including Brits got the word to go to certain airfields and seaports and the Russians hauled them out in April

Yet these Americans stayed
The ultimate idiots

But hey if you want to form up a private militia go for it. Be the hero you expect someone else’s son or daughter to be.
