You didn’t mention local television stations. Look at who owns the network affiliate TV stations in your area.

That’s a small piece of the pie.

But even so, what’s your point? Not advertise at all?

Paid media is one element of an effective communications strategy, and not the most important element. The candidate’s own ad spending should be for positive messaging. PACs are gonna do what PACs do best—or worst.

Well .. as long as Rand Paul is willing TO LIE ABOUT TED CRUZ’s CITIZENSHIP .. what the hell else is he lying about.

My candidate is still Ted Cruz.

Negative advertising is counter-productive. I earmark my donations not to be spent on advertising. Campaign finance is a wealth transfer mechanism for Democrats.

You have some very odd and even bizarre notions about how this stuff works. Not accurate either. Specifically: I do agree that negative ads can be counter productive, especially in a primary. Your earmarks are useless, as money is fungible...and again, the wealth transfer argument is just so shallow.

BTW, what do you want them to spend campaign money on?

Staff, travel, printing, postage, consultants, polling, GOTV, etc. It shouldn’t take a billion dollars to run for President.

Yes, GOTV but that’s only the tail end of the campaign. And of course travel. Printing and postage? What is this, 1975?

AND: what does staff do? What do consultants do? They consult on media. They buy media. They message.

No it shouldn’t take a billion, but that’s an entirely different topic.

It is not a different topic. What do you think the billions are spent on? Negative advertising with diminishing returns except to the media owners.

Maybe we should end this discussion since neither of us is convincing the other.

you obviously have a problem with ownership. Why don’t you get the hell off the internet and stop using a laptop or a smart phone, because you’re only enriching liberals when you do that.

(game, set match thanks for playing, drive safely....)

You don’t get to referee your own tennis match.
