Baton Rouge Reporter Arrested After Run-In with Police

WBRZ reporter Brett Buffington was arrested after a run-in with officers at the scene of a burglary investigation Thursday morning.

According to The Advocate, the Baton Rouge, La. ABC affiliate’s reporter was booked on counts of interfering with an officer and intimidating a public official.

Police placed Buffington in the back of a police unit until the area was made safe, the report says. Buffington was then issued a criminal summons and told he was free to leave, to which he told an officer, “Hope you enjoy the rest of your career.”

The report says the officer took the comment to mean that Buffington would have the officer fired, so the reporter was then arrested and booked into the Parish Prison.

When Buffington arrived at the scene, the report says, police advised him not to continue any further so he wouldn’t disturb the police dogs.

Police told Buffington a second time to leave the area, but he instead began taking several photos of the officers and the scene using the flash, the report says.

“WBRZ is working with our employee and the Baton Rouge Police Department to determine the full details of what occurred,” said WBRZ News Director Chuck Bark in an email response.

Punk kid.

I tell you, the arrogance of network fake news reporters BEGINS at the local news level.

Make sure your local news providers and their SPONSORS know you are watching.

Normally I'd think the cop went too far, but Brett Buffington looks like a real tool.

ABC News.....A Clinton crime family member. The reporter was probably hired because he pass the slime threshold.

Throw him in jail for life and sell his family to Isis.

“Punk Kid” was arrested for disrespect of cop. If the cop hadn’t violated any policies or law how was “have a nice rest of your career” threatening in any way. I find the idea that cops can arrest you for being a jerk far more disturbing than an A-hole reporter mouthing off to the cops.

Any attorneys out there?

• Litigation is OK
• Threatening litigation is illegal

Is that correct?

I agree.

The reporter sounds like an a—hole, but that cop acted like a real fag.

Wonderful, beautiful birds. I had an Orpington hen as a boy who raised 18 little chicks. I do not know how she kept track of them all, but she did.
