The NHS will be forced to discriminate against the over 70s to meet highly unethical UN health targets which seek to reduce premature deaths in younger people, senior medics have warned.
Under the proposed Sustainable Development Goals, UN member states must cut the number of deaths from diseases like cancer, stroke, diabetes and dementia by one third by 2030.
However because many are age-related illnesses people who succumb to those diseases from the age of 70 are not deemed to have died prematurely and so are not included in the target.
In an open letter published in The Lancet, an international group of ageing specialists say the new guideline sends out the message that health provision for younger groups must be prioritised at the expense of older people.
Prof Peter Lloyd-Sherlock, professor of social policy and international development at the University of East Anglia, and lead author of the letter, said: This premature mortality target is highly unethical, since it unjustifiably discriminates against older people.

UN member states must cut ...
Or else what?
Dear God.
Seriously, the government of China should take it upon itself to build a new, upgraded United Nations building in Beijing. By the time it was completed, hopefully the US government will have changed enough to support the move.
Or else you’ll get a socialist frowny face sticker for wasting resources on spent, worn out, production units when the resources could be spent on healthy young ones and increasing their production...
It says we are ordered to report to a disintegration chamber.
Armed...
Poetic Justice. They deserve it because these are the children of the people that voted for socialized medicine in 1948 and who supported it all these years.

Read the comments section. Some can’t wait to get a hold of property, so they can’t die soon enough for them.
I showed this to my lib Brit hubby who couldn’t believe it (even after I warned him). He lost his father to the NHS because he was ‘too old to treat’. I may have made a believer of him. Maybe.
Except this is just a warning from health chiefs, nowhere does it say the UK will act on this nonsense.
I am sorry your hubby had a bad NHS experience, on the other hand, even as a conservative, I have to say it saved the lives of both my parents. At least he and you(?) have had experience of it, most US critics haven’t, most haven’t even been to the UK!.
No, there aren’t. Despite the hype.
The Liverpool Pathway has been appallingly misunderstood and misrepresented in the US media. As is the NHS.
Anyone who tries to inject a bit of balanced criticism into FR threads on the NHS, despite some of us actually being British, usually gets called a denier or a socialist. Of which I am neither btw.
Great film ,and good novel. The death scene is heartbreaking to watch, esp when you know Robinson was dying for real.
The souls of whoever obeys these death orders against the innocent are in danger. The death orders are going to become more and more aggressive and target more and more people as the globalist climate changers desire to severely decrease the human population on earth.
