"If we must have an enemy at the head of Government, let it be one whom we can oppose, and for whom we are not responsible, who will not involve our party in the disgrace of his foolish and bad measures." - Alexander Hamilton

"We don't intend to turn the Republican Party over to the traitors in the battle just ended. We will have no more of those candidates who are pledged to the same goals as our opposition and who seek our support. Turning the Party over to the so-called moderates wouldn’t make any sense at all." -- President Ronald Reagan

"A thing moderately good is not so good as it ought to be. Moderation in temper is always a virtue; but moderation in principle is always a vice." - Thomas Paine 1792

"It does not take a majority to prevail, but rather an irate, tireless minority, keen on setting brushfires of freedom in the minds of men." - Samuel Adams

"If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or your arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen." - Samuel Adams

Just Wow, you mean the GOPe's candidates aren't invited?

It seems Ted Cruz is top billing at many state republican events.

Poor Jebby and the GOPe are sad.

I have a serious question

I've read that Ted would eliminate common core in its entirety

CAN he do that ?

How ?

And what of those school districts that have already voted it in and are almost exclusively using it ?

As I understand it, common core is the agreed upon price for taking gummint money, and if so ... wouldn't THAT contract hold up ... or would that contract be negated by the disappearance of common core (assuming it really does)

He could simply make every portion of the federal regs for it voluntary while phasing out the money.

I don't have any specific information on your questions, but a good, Constitutional answer would be to abolish the Department of Education, return control to the states and local school districts and let them decide if common core works or doesn't work for them.

You won't be required to pay the price once the 'gummint' money is no longer offered. You can't force the Feds to continue providing that money. The Supreme Court has ruled, twice, that even something as sacrosanct as Social Security could be ended at once. Instead of giving the local school districts direct payments (after taking a Fed union employee handling charge) we'll give them — back — their own tax base via Federal tax changes that include tax cuts. The school districts and/or their state governments, can then tax their own citizens for however much public education they're willing to provide.

How did Sen Cruz vote on the USA LossOfFreedom Act? Is he for or against recording my private phone calls?

Thanks, and Sen Cruz is doing the right thing. Mass collection of private data can be and will be abused by corrupt politicians in power.
