Oh good grief. You sound like Burkman1.
Very well said. The military and the intelligence community are full of patriots. We need to keep it that way.
Yeah, I badly worded that post.
LOL, nothing like doubling down on crazy and despising the American GI.
God bless you and the thousands like you.
If you ever do have to saddle up again be sure to send word. I’ll be there before dawn.
Good boots, drab clothing, two canteens, and a thousand rounds of ammunition.
I was considering it to pay for college until I got some scholarships. My cousin, who’s a doctor in the Navy, tells me constantly about young people who pretend mental illness to get out. It seems like Hell on Earth. Plus, considering my Christian beliefs and heterosexuality, I would not be welcomed. Thank God it all worked out.
I have a married conservative Christian grandson in the Navy. Military life isn’t for everyone, though.
Most of those folks have left. FR is a very strange place these days.
The great majority still are of course, but remember that we have a few nutty posters that are excitable nut cases.
Give those guys a few months of gays in the military and females in Infantry articles, and they instantly start posting about the entire military as being made up of Obama appointees, as though all those Gunnery Sergeants, PFCs from Texas, and Majors, and Rangers, all just enlisted, and joined for gay marriage or something.
You fail grasp that having people who will side with the populace over the government (if that becomes necessary) inside the military is critical.
During one hundred percent of your lifetime so far the United States has had that. If it had not, you would have lived a very different life.
Ron Paul, is that you?
It’s sort of become a haven for free love commandos.
Living in your parents basement gives a person a very warped perspective on the world.
It is true that just about every one of those type posters, gives the impression that they themselves never served.
I just had one the other day who just flat out would not say if he ever served or not, no matter how he was asked.
Almost makes a person think that he/she doesn’t fit around here anymore.
....if you’re real sensitive.
Well, I’m still here. (Spend a lot of time just lurkin’.)
No sensitivity in my makeup since about 1966.
Me either.
Active Duty/Retiree ping.
Bears repeating - kinda sums it up. For those unaware, in Rudyard Kipling's time the British slang 'Tommy Atkins' is the same as we would use 'G.I. Joe'.
God bless our troops. They stand ready on the front line looking for a chance to close with, and kill, the enemies of our way of life. Despite what the armchair internet has to say.
As an added benefit, they are now threatening us where we lives, along with our families.
I say, bring it!
Thanks, North, for a good, timeless, poetic reminder from another time.
'If...'
[crap] *lives* = live
...anyway, you get what I mean. Right?
