And like the other outrageous "gotcha" headlines about Walker, it shot around the Internet.

The Left is hard at work, beating the "Walker's War on Women" meme.

More at Red State: Politico Smears Scott Walker With False Quote

"Politico today led the way in a virtual tidal wave of outragey outrage stories across the leftosphere trashing Scott Walker as some kind of monster because he thinks that laws mandating ultrasounds before abortions are “cool” and gosh doesn’t he just love rape.

Only that’s not rape. And, oh yeah, he didn’t even say that......."

More at Twitchy: Deliberately out-of-context Scott Walker quote fits ‘war on women’ narrative, goes viral

"If there’s anything reporters at Left-leaning media outlets love more than an interview with the unabashedly conservative Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker, it’s an interview with Scott Walker conducted by conservative Dana Loesch. So Politico and other sites might have taken some liberties with their headlines reporting on Loesch’s interview with Walker — and by “liberties,” we mean deliberately pulling a quote out of context to perpetuate the “GOP’s war on women” narrative and feed the Left a false but rhetorically effective talking point.........."

Scott Walker Self-Destructs By Suggesting That Ultrasounds Are Like Selfies

You heard that saying “if you are catching enemy fire, you must be over the target” or something like that.

Getting a little off track here, but I don’t understand why a transvaginal ultrasound was suggested over a pelvic one to begin with. The baby is still seen regardless. And on one of the articles it mentions a “10-inch rod” being used for a transvaginal ultrasound, whereas on the following link it states the transducer used is slightly smaller than a tampon.

And why would a pregnant woman be so upset over [the discomfort of] one of these ultrasounds anyway, when she plans on having [through abortion] destructive killing instruments placed in the same area to rip her child apart, killing it right on the spot?

That being said, it looks like we are going to have a plethora of candidates who are socially very conservative (thank God), but how is anyone going to know who to vote for? Santorum, Huckabee, Walker, they are very similar in regard to Life, and if Jindal should join in (which I’m still praying he does), we’ll have four such strong pro-Life men.

IMHO, all the media frenzy about this candidate or that one is the same game they played four years ago. My hope is that we can ignore them. We HAVE Cruz. We ain’t gonna do better. Time to settle down.

What is the point of the ultrasound? Other than to generate an additional fee for the doctor or the lab?

He did say ultrasounds are “just a cool thing out there” while defending a law forcing them on women.

And his very next sentence after that statement was, “We just knew if we signed that law, if we provided the information, that more people if they saw that unborn child would, would make a decision to protect and keep the life of that unborn child.”

So I really don’t see the quote in this story as taken out of context.

People Who Don’t Want Women to See Ultrasounds of their Babies – What Are They Thinking?

GeorgeLeventhal

He’s a really nice guy. George Leventhal, Montgomery County Maryland Council President, loves puppies. Presumably he likes babies…born ones, that is.

What motivates a nice guy like George, to want to impede women seeing their babies’ ultrasounds, what are his thought processes? Ultrasounds aren’t exactly cute, but people do get excited about them. We can’t presume to know George’s thinking, but it’s still important to try to understand what people who take his position have in mind.

It may be true, not necessarily in George’s case, but on average, that anti-ultrasound people know that if women see their babies, they’re not going to want to abort them.

You have a great power in your ability to ponder deeply to gain insight into abortion enthusiasts' state of mind. It’s very important, because what progressives say, they intend to put into action. Ivory Tower ravings of past generations of academics are now mandatory United States Government policy. If they say blood will flow in the streets, or in doctors’ offices, you might want to pay special attention to what they have in mind.
